Hello,
My area here is looking to form a marriage counseling group (one just for women, one just for men) in the local area. The individual that is looking to form one is alarmed at the rising divorce rates and infidelity that is rocking the local community. She works for an agency that sends social workers to peoples' homes to assess children (their development) for low income people.
She has been coming to our house for 2+ years now and I mentioned to her that infact my family has been hit hard by a crisis that almost led to divorce and I would love to introduce Marriage Builders to her. So, I did, and she has printed out a lot of the articles, pages, and inventories for her own family. She says this is the best she has ever seen and thinks hosting a group once per month would be a great idea. So, I know Marriage Builders is copyright material and charges fees for their services/books... What is the limit on teaching these concepts to others who don't know what Marriage Builders is about?
She has asked if I could give a testimony on how Marriage Builders helped save our marriage and maybe help explain the topics to those who are having issues. I said I would love to but need to ask about the details of doing so. I don't want to break the law so that is why I ask.
Thanks, Eric

LoveCAG, lots of folks here teach this course in their churches/homes/groups and Dr Harley encourages this. You might want to email him and ask for some pointers. This is the email address you can reach him at: mbradio@marriagebuilders.com A couple of books/videos I would suggest for the group leaders: Effective Marriage Counseling Five Steps to Romantic Love workbook Basic Concepts Video

Does he really email back? He looks very busy. My only concern would be if people are really miserable in their marriages someone might try to use it as a meet and greet--I definitely don't want that happening.

I can see where you concern would be so have maybe seperated groups. Only married couples as couples and only divorced but same gender not cross. Does that make sense?

I would set it up for married couples. Even so, you are not setting up a social group, it would be more like a class with very minimal interaction.

Just curious, what does higher the hair closer to God mean? Oh Lordy LoveCAG, only a flat-haired Yankee carpetbagger would ask such a foolhardy question! Mel got that expression from me -- I have a plaque in our bathroom that says that -- It means just what it says, in other words BIG HAIR means you are just a wee bit closer to Heaven, and therefore God, than everyone else! Mel, we need to see if we can have some sort of translator installed for the Yankees and foreigners around here so we don't have to be 'splainin' the obvious to them all the time! Mrs. W

You are calling me a yankee when you live totally up north in very protected union country... Michigan!!! Come on now I live in Iowa... Anyway, I was wondering because I happen to be a holiness pentecostal (church affiliation) and the ladies have very long hair.. It reaches down to the floor with a lot of them and they wear such opulent buns of glory that it could be the new leaning tower of Piza (sp). I was wondering if it had something to do what that!

My question was on the radio show for 4/11 the last segment. He addressed it pretty quickly, I was amazed. We are one step closer to getting one held most likely after my school ends. My wife will be on the leadership team with me but no one else really lol

To clarify the church isn't having the problem but the general community but I guess the church members live in that community so that is true! :-P
