TO PEE OR NOT TO PEE . . .�

I have a job. �
I work, they pay me.�
I �pay my taxes & the government�distributes my taxes as it sees fit.�
�
In order to get that paycheck, in my case,�
I am required to pass a random urine test�
(with which I have no problem).�
�
What I do have a problem with is the distribution�
of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test.�

So, here is my question:�
Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check�because I have to pass one to earn it for them?�

Please understand, I �have no problem with�helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting�on their butt doing drugs while I work.�Can you imagine how much money each state�would save if people had to pass a urine test�to get a public assistance check?�

I guess we could call �the �program�"URINE �OR YOU'RE OUT"! �



Someone sent me this by email. Seriously though, something has to change in this country - AND �SOON!�

P.S. �Just a thought, but all politicians�should have to pass a urine test too!

Agreed. Especially people that knowingly manipulate the system again and again to NOT work and utilize services they don't need. I see it all the time. We are funding their habits with our taxes.

When I had a FB, a cousin of mine posted some frustration about seeing someone in line at Wal-Mart paying for their food w/ stamps, and then getting into a nice car.

I understood. When I worked at the grocery store I saw it all the time, and often felt a lot of the same frustration.

Then I hit this leg of schooling where it was in my best interest to not work, and to concentrate solely on my studies. Not to mention, I had lost 20k/year in income switching careers while I was continuing school.

I finally qualified for some financial aid (I paid out of pocket for the duration of my AA studies).

It's enough to pay for schools and handle bills while I reduced my work hours to a minimum and went to school. Those bills include a car payment.

So... now the people behind me get to see a well-dressed individual (sometimes in scrubs and a lab coat) paying for his groceries with a food stamp card, and then go out and load them into a newer Lincoln Navigator with 22" chrome rims.

What they think is that I am bilking the system.

Heck, maybe I am. I seek and receive all the benefits I qualify for (note the word qualify, not entitled), and use them to position myself to NEVER HAVE TO USE THEM AGAIN.

"But, but, but... we support what you are doing!!!!"

That's because I explained what I am doing. The schmuck in front of you in the grocery store doesn't get that chance.

I have ran into some of my foodstamp customers over the years since I left grocery. One in particular is a single father with six children. He completed 3 degrees and now receives no benefits. In his spare time, he works with youth groups. I stopped at one; a car wash.

As the children washed my car in an effort to raise money for equipment for their grid-kid football team, I talked to a man that had seen struggles beyond anything I myself face, and came out of the other side better for it, and then additionally gave back what he could. A man that I had previously looked down on; "He chose to have all those kids... he chose to live his life this way..."

He did choose those things, and then he chose to pursue better, and he needed a little help. That help was available to him. Yes, it was because of the contributions of people like myself who bitterly judged him based on his "choices."

Now the shoe is on the other foot, and that foot is planted squarely in my mouth.

Ah, life...

I have been in dire financial situations before. I may be again one day. Heck, I have bipolar disorder, and if my brain decides to go haywire I might need assistance or disability or something.

If that means a drug test, I'll pee. If the person working hard to better themselves isn't smoking weed or using meth, then a drug test shouldn't be a problem.

As a teacher of children, I have to be fingerprinted, have background checks, and yes, I did take a drug test. That was part of the requirement, so I did it.

I was just lucky I wore gloves when I robbed all those banks - hahahahahaha
