Chinese Billionaire Tells Wife Via Twitter He Is Leaving Her

Move over Anthony Weiner, there is a new Casanova on Twitter.

Chinese billionaire Wang Gongquan announced on the social media website that he was leaving his wife for his mistress, according to the Daily Mail.

"I am giving up everything and eloping with Wang Qin. I feel ashamed and so am leaving without saying goodbye. I kneel down and beg forgiveness," he Tweeted.

Gongquan has also taken to YouTube, singing about the nature of love.

The scandal has left the billionaire a laughingstock in China, according to the Daily Mail.

Friends have urged him to contact them after the Tweet and videos went viral.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Gongquan's Twitter post was re-tweeted 60,000 times in 24 hours.

So he's seeing consequences AND friends are contacting him? I can't help but wonder if they're MB his butt now that he outed himself. And waywardly arrogant of him to advertise his false shame.

As an always-potential BS, I see one lesson: Twitter's a bad exposure choice no matter who uses it.

Wait. So he's giving up his billions of dollars to elope with some woman?

That sounds like a terrible idea.

Anyone taking bets that his billionaire exwife will meet someone awesome and he'll end up twice-divorced and broke?

He's a billionaire in China. Billions go pretty far in Asia. Plus it's a patriarchal society (so it's not like she'll get half), he's old so his/their kids are likely raised and, as I recall...the OW is loaded too. This guy walked away from his job running a huge hedge fund...but it's speculated him and his powerful OW are planning some new company together. Hopefully...they invest all their own money in that and it flops.

This story was HUGE overseas. At first his friends and family worried that he was abducted and/or though it was all a hoax. His job just reported he was taking a leave of absence.
