I noticed that a couple of posters have nicknames for their OP's : Brainless Twinky and Slug are two that pop to mind.
I call my H's former OW The Spork. It is similar to her online nickname, but enough of a difference that I can look at the word and laugh at her. Also a spork is something temporarily used and then thrown away.
What are some other nicknames you use? And why did you choose them?
Have a good weekend!

The nick name that I have for the OM is looser. He can't hold down a job. He can't even hold down a BS grunt job that any brainless nimrod could do in their sleep. Does this sound like I'm still angry ???
------------------
That Which does not kill us makes us stronger.

I haven't given OM a nickname, simply because I don't want to imply ANY sort of familiarity.....

I call her Sleeza...a variation of her name, but this fits her and makes me feel better.
------------------
Joan
"Turn your wounds into wisdom..." That really cool black gal who was on Oprah all summer.
The answer to the 'why' of nicknames is simple...we are law abiding people who would love to a) claw the persons eyes out, b) trip them on a staircase, or c)expose them to the world for their lack of concern for other's feelings---but, since we don't want to go to jail or lower ourselves to their base ways, we demean them subtlely with put-down nicknames. I have a few for the OW, but lately I find myself wondering if she was sexually abused in the past, or has some other reason for so aggressively pursuing other's peoples husbands...So now I may start to think of her as "THE POOR THING", which is what my h. called me for the months before he confessed.
progress?
LIZ
------------------
When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. Scum , Slime , Snake , etc. I like snake best because OM reminds me of the Bible. Adam and Eve and how the Serpent snuck in "the back door" and deceived Eve and forever changed her life and Adam's.
He is slime.
How can respect someone that knowingly does these things.
------------------
1Co:2:4: And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
1Co:2:5: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

I have a nick name for my ex. I call her "SuperX". I was calling the "new man" (he's not really an OP anymore) "Spanky" for a while. Now I don't call him anything, but I call everyone else I don't like "Todd". Especially if they are cheating stealing loosers prone to bite off more than they can chew. He's an old "lawn mower" from way back. Now he's mowing my lawn. Didn't rake the leaves though.

Heartpain, I don't look on it as any sort of familiarity. Instead, by nicknaming her and forcing myself to find out everything I could about her, I was taking control of the situation. At least it felt that way to me. I also laugh that the reason I know so much about her was because she sent H a few very long, very detailed emails about her life and her daily schedule. In this case, it was a good thing that my H never told her any details about me, so now I know all about her, and she knows absolutely nothing about me.
I guess giving a derogatory nickname, or a humourous put down one shows that it is possible to take back some of your dignity, that the OP may have started out being a secret, but they aren't hidden anymore. I like to think she's feeling uncomfortable with the thought that my H and I can discuss her as much as we want to, and since he's broken off contact with her, she won't ever know what we said.
Spork Spork Spork Spork Spork. ha ha ha ha

I didn't name wildebeast , wildebeast. Some of my male friends did. They were freaked out to learn that Mike had left me for THAT !
The others I just use b. for . What I really hate is wildebeast has the same name as my neice, and the name of the state said neice lives in. Virginia. Yuck.
Now I know he called last (please God !) ow - "Lady" , Talk about painful ! He has never had a special name like that for me, and a lot of my X favorite songs had that word in them. Now Lady is a four letter word to me.
------------------
Just call me - Deb
------------------------
The only day I can do anything about is today, yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not yet mine.

My personal favorite is Chris (CA123)'s "wankboy." Must've laughed for twenty minutes straight when I saw that one.
I just refer to Petunia's OM as "d*ckhead." I do it primarily because of how he pretended to be my friend and then seduced my wife, but I also call him that because he shaves his head, and he's tall and thin. If he wore a turtle neck, he'd look just like a . . . well, you get it.
------------------
/// Lone Star * ///

First OM was/is simply "Fat A**". Second guy that came along and got in the way was Matt... "DoorMatt". Was/is he ever! I don't bother naming any of the new ones, hell, I can't keep up. I can only be so creative, so fast! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
Eric32
[This message has been edited by Eric32 (edited October 29, 1999).]

Ok, I agree, Wankboy wins, followed by Wildebeast, and then DoorMatt!
Maybe we could set Wankboy up with Spork - Gee, what fun wedding reception napkins!
Spork and Wankboy
Wildebeast and DoorMatt
Spanky and DragonLady
Also, Lonestar, your description of dorkhead brought back memories of a Robin Williams monologue, very descriptive, regarding circumcised vs. uncircumsized--
Snake wearing a sweater--
Turtle wearing a hat, etc etc etc

Well, let's add, Fat A@* Mayor (from the movie The night before Christmas with the skinny cartoon characters). The Mayor was the one that was two-faced. One side of his face was happy and the other was mad. Another from my past was Endora, just another witch. So, you can add the Mayor and Endora to the reception.

I believe I introduced "Slug" both here and over on the Divorce-Busting forum - and it has caught on. I, too, cannot use her real name because it is the same as both MY sister's and my sister-in-law's! UGH!!!
As for why I PICKED "Slug" it's pretty simple: think of what a garden slug looks like, and how it moves ... not to mention the trail of slime it leaves in its path.
'nuff said. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif)
[This message has been edited by terri (edited October 29, 1999).]

Hi Guys, get ready to kill me.
I hate to switch tracks and know I will probably get a lot of hate mail for this, but, I have always refered to him as the OM or Brian.
At this point in my life I do not hate him or my W. I was involved in the destruction of my marriage, as much as she was, which caused this to occur. Val was always attenative and affectionate to me. She is everything anyone could wish for. I had her. I lost her because of my actions or inactions. The business was first priority. I would have given it up if I could go back to the old days. I found my Val attractive from the start, short slim blonde, her outgoing bubbly personality abolutely fabulous. Anyone would. If I would have been there for her like I should have, we would not be in this mess. I only have a few nicknames for me which I do not want to reveal.
Sorry for breaking the train of the thread. I am having a bad Val day. I really miss her.
Wishing us all the Best.
Medic

Um hum.
Well, um, first, I wonder how you can take personal responsibility for another persons actions? What makes you think you could have "done" something that would have changed history? You couldn't have done anything to make her go, or to make her stay. It's her decision and it reflects her issues, not yours. You can't blame yourself for things she has done.
People don't leave because they are unhappy with their partners. They leave because they are unhappy with themselves. You probably couldn't have done anything. If you could have, she would have told you in advance, not after it was already decided.
Her name is Pam and at first I called her "Princess." I am still so jealous and hurt I could spit.
I have much hatred for her...please no lectures on misdirected feelings. I don't think that is it.
I am ashamed to say that I usually now refer to her as the C*@t. Yes, the dreaded C word that I absolutely deplore. The word I swore I would never use and thought anyone who used the word was lower than low. I guess this kind of thing knocked me low.
I am trying to think of a word to use for her but, so far I haven't come up with a better one.
My fourteen year old calls her the "B@#ch". Now when we are cooking she says to me pass the "B@#ch" which of course is the cooking spray. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
When I do think of one I'll let everyone know.
Personally I think these nick names are healthy. Mine isn't though so I must think of new one. Swearing in any way in my mind is not good at that word...I shudder every time I really think about what I say. Yikes...

------------------
God bless you and all of us.
Samantha
