We are not country music fans but some friends who we spend a lot of time with are and every time I hear this song it reminds me of all I went through and I think of the BSs who are currently going through h*ll.

If You're Going Through Hell by Rodney Atkins.

Well you know those times
When you feel like there's a sign there on your back
Says I don't mind if ya kick me
Seems like everybody has
Things go from bad to worse
You'd think they can't get worse than that
And then they do

You step off the straight and narrow
And you don't know where you are
Use the needle of your compass
To sew up your broken heart
Ask directions from a genie
In a bottle of Jim Beam
And she lies to you
That's when you learn the truth

If you're going through hell
Keep on going, don't slow down
If you're scared, don't show it
You might get out
Before the devil even knows you're there

Well I been deep down in that darkness
I been down to my last match
Felt a hundred different demons
Breathing fire down my back
And I knew that if I stumbled
I'd fall right into the trap that they were laying, yeah

But the good news
Is there's angels everywhere out on the street
Holding out a hand to pull you back up on your feet
The one's that you've been dragging for so long
You're on your knees
You might as well be praying
Guess what I'm saying

If your going through hell
Keep on going, don't slow down
If you're scared don't show it
You might get out
Before the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, If you're going through hell
Keep on moving, face that fire
Walk right through it
You might get out
Before the devil even knows you're there

If you're going through hell
Keep on going, don't slow down
If you're scared don't show it
You might get out
Before the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, If you're going through hell
Keep on moving, face that fire
Walk right through it
You might get out
Before the devil even knows you're there
Yeah, you might get out
Before the devil even knows you're th
ere.

When he talks about the "angels everywhere out on the street", I think of my family, friends and everyone here on MB who helped me through that time.

Thank you, friends.

You've been an angel to many that needed help, including me, many, many times.

Thank you too.

This song was high on the charts and getting lots of play-time right when I was going through the "crisis" of my xWW's separation/affair. I heard it a hundred times and I remember the lyrics cutting right to the bone for me way back then.

Brought back a lot of memories to "hear" it again...

Wow, this is very meaningful for me. This is what I did in my darkest moments. I walked straight forward and didn't ever stop or slow down. This is why I try to keep new BS's focused on their plan without getting distracted by the noise. Its the ones who get distracted by the noise who don't get out.

I'm always getting distracted. How can I stop doing that? Everything seems to be a trigger for me.

Oh and another good song is called I Won't Let Go by Rascal Flatt's. It came out right before I found about about my H's A. It actually made me think of my H and how supportive he was and how he promised to help me get through this. It also made me think of God being there to help me through this too. Here are the lyrics:

It's like a storm
That cuts a path
It breaks your will
It feels like that
You think you're lost
But you're not lost on your own,
You're not alone

I will stand by you,
I will help you through
When you've done all you can do
and you can't cope
I will dry your eyes,
I will fight your fight
I will hold you tight
and I won't let go

It hurts my heart to see you cry
I know its dark this part of life
Oh it find us all and we're to small
to stop the rain
Oh but when it rains

I will stand by you,
I will help you through
When you've done all you can do
and you can't cope
I will dry your eyes,
I will fight your fight
I will hold you tight
and I won't let you fall

Don't be afraid to fall
I'm right here to catch you
I won't let you down
It won't get you down
You're gonna make it
I know you can make it

Cause I will stand by you,
I will help you through
When you've done all you can do
and you can't cope
I will dry your eyes,
I will fight your fight
I will hold you tight
and I won't let go

Oh I'm gonna hold you
and I won't let go
Won't let you go
No I won't
