Today I got an e-mail that the credit card linked to my EZPass account was due to expire and I needed to log in and renew it.
Just a reminder that if your spouse has EZPass, you can log in and see what tolls he/she has paid with EZPass. If traveling to a location involving an OP takes him/her on a toll road, an easy and free way to check is to log in to EZPass and check the account history. This is how I determined my husband had gone to OW's house. Or vice versa, if he/she said he/she was at work, and traveling to work involves a toll road and no tolls were paid on that day, well, there you go. Where we live, there are many toll roads and for most people, EZPass has become an invisible utility. Some WSs might not realize they can be tracked this way and never think to remove it. Also, if your WS has EZPass and has taken it down, this may be another clue.
If you are going to use an EZPass account for surveillance, make sure you update your profile to a password only you know, and have billing notifications sent to a private e-mail address. If the WS is not thinking about EZPass, "out of sight" might keep it "out of mind." Also, you don't want him/her to lock you out.
Finally, if you only have (literally) 30 seconds to a minute with a phone that's not password protected, a quick and easy way to check for deleted calls is to check the phone's call history or status. On my husband's (very old) phone, it was "call history;" on a Blackberry, it's Status-Last Call. If the duration of the last call on the phone doesn't match the duration of the last call in Status, you know a call's been deleted. This method might become increasingly obsolete with new generations of smartphones, but it worked well for me.
Obviously other methods will give you better, detailed information, but I just wanted to post some low-tech tips for anyone who's just starting out or who can't do more for financial reasons.
Hope this is helpful to someone -
