Saw the movie Crazy, Stupid, Love. with Steve Carell and a great cast.
If you heard of it you know it has an affair theme. And actually, as a BH like the Steve Carell character, I felt pretty good seeing this movie. Actually touched a lot of the right emotions for this BH.
It seems almost impossible to avoid affair themes in TV and movies. It comes at us non-stop. So I was amused as my wife suggested we see a movie. And we talked about seeing this one. She said, "maybe the subject is a bad one? How about Planet of the Apes, or Cowbays vs Aliens, or Captain America." She gets a point for trying. But seriously, she would never choose to see one of those movies. I said, no, lets go ahead and see this Crazy, Stupid, Love.
For this BH... it was a great movie.

Stretch: I'm impressed. I simply crawl into a hole when I'm confronted by any affair theme in anything I watch. Just too painful yet. Bravo to you for getting past it!

She said there were a couple of cringe moments. But maybe not for the same reasons in your sitch.
They made fun of the Steve Carell character at one point for just having one sexual partner. That's a thing in our sitch. Me with only her and her with a long history before she met me. So maybe that's what she meant.
I think overall, we don't know what the other one will cringe at.
For the most part, as a BH, I felt kind of like the BH in the movie was getting vindicated and finding himself while the WW was, to quote a line in the movie, "batsh*t crazy."

I saw this with FWH. It didn't bother me the way I thought it might. The WW wasn't as fogged out as what I lived through, but I enjoyed that people thought she was batcrap crazy.
Plus? It had Ryan Gosling in it. There is nothing not to like about that! LOL

I saw this Saturday and LOVED it! My FWH loved it too. I thought it was hilarioius and I loved the theme of fighting for your soul mate. Very good movie.

Never noticed before dday that almost every movie and tv show has an adultery theme or subplot.
Even though recovery has been good, the times we are watching something and the subject is broached I hate it.
I get the stomach thing and anxiety builds.
We know that movie's theme and we have avoided it.
I dont like reliving the embarassment she has put on me and the way the A made her look real bad in my eyes.
Too soon. Maybe on HBO next year Ill be ready.
