I met my husband when I was 25, working, had just purchased my own apartment and happy. After 3 months he moved into my apartment and I really extended myself to his family. Things were great. He asked me to marry him after a year and after 5 months we were married. About 2 months later he began talking about moving to Central American to live a better life. Our money would go farer and we would be able to purchase a home, in no time. His parents even joined in by saying that they would move too, to retire there. Little by little we started researching, sold a few of our things, packed up our belongings and shipped them over. We also sent equipment to work and he left first to begin the process of relocating while I stayed behind. The plan was for me to continue to work and pay off our pending debit, which I have been doing. My husband has been gone now for 11 months. His family barley talks to me now (didnt even send me a txt for Thanksgiving), he states that he is not stable finically to send for me, I continue to work and pay off our cars and over a years time he has not been able to send me money to help with the bills (he says he cannot). In the mean time I have had to send him money, tried to reconnect with his family and after a hospitalization, Im on blood pressure medication at age 29. Over this year I have also pressured him in talking about things he has told me in the past that I find hard to believe are true now. During one of my last conversations with his mother, I told her something along the line of his military career and she asked me what I was talking about. I told her the 6 years he served in the military, and she told me that I should verify that with him because she was not aware that he was in the military. He has yet to show me a picture, discharge papers or anything to prove it he was. I now find myself, married at age 29, with nothing to show for it (no apartment), my savings was invested in this move, paying debits (2 cars) with nothing but my clothes and dogs, living at my parents house. All my friends and family tell me I have been coned, depressed and waiting for something that is not going to happen (moving to Central America). Emotionally I am destroyed and feel that I have given it a year and at my breaking point. I would hate to file for Divorce but see no end in sight. I feel ridiculous even writing this. At this point we dont have any children or property we share. I just feel that I am not getting anything out of this relationship other than phone calls

Living together is never a good idea.....keep reading on this site and you will find good info. In the meantime perhaps it is time to realize you may have been conned.

I agree with SmilingWoman. You've been conned. Consult a lawyer. You may even be eligible to file for an annulment. I'm so sorry.

I am so sorry. You need to see an attorney. And stop sending any money to the bum. The guy may not have set out to con you, but in effect that's what's happened. And he's gone.
You may also want to check your credit report to make sure he's not using you to get loans.

Distance,
welcome aboard
If you are both looking to move south I don't understand why you are hanging onto the cars, why not sale them.
Are the cars in your name ?????
I'd use the money to buy around trip ticket, get a face to face with your husband and sort things out. Having a return ticket will give the out you may need.
There isn't a marriage on the planet that is thriving with a continued separation like you have going.

Thank you for your comments. Since my last post I confronted his mother through a letter, she did not respond to me until as week later. We met and spoke. I caught her in yet another lie. I even called her out for being a liar. After our meeting, I went to the court house and obtained the needed divorce paper work and have an appointment for the New Year. Needless to say I have not heard from her. I advised him through the phone of everything. He completely flipped and threatened to commit suicide. Told me he would come clean (has yet to) and is going to sell everything and come back to the states so that we can start over. He started taking religious phases to save our marriage, which I have taken up as manipulation. I told him I cannot advise him on what to do as it is his life and his decision Truth is I feel so angry and I dont think I can move past the lies, the fact that I have lost everything and the disenchantment with his family and this marriage. I really have nothing else to give. Knowing him, he is probably going to show up on my door step. I did not take my vows lightly but see no solution. Just an update.

You are more than entitled to file if you feel you are beyond forgiving him in any way.
One year becomes two, two years becomes five, five becomes ten and before you know it, you've wasted your whole life on a problem you can't solve. That's one way to spend your life. -rwinger
I will not spend my life this way.
