Tjis is kind of long so I hope a couple people will read through it
I am married going on three years. Have a 7 yr old daughter
With my wife and a 13 yr old stepson. I love my family more than
Anything and I work a lot of hours and days. A lot of stress comes from work
Between the stress of the job and worrying about making sure the bills
And mortgage is being paid I get aggregated very easy. Seems like I am
Always in a bad mood and angry. Last weekend my wife and I had a fight, a bad one
Where she said she hated me and wanted to leave. She couldn't stand being around me
She would Waite until I left for work. Wore coming back home after dropping the kids off at school. She is tired of the way I am always in a bad mood, don't talk nice to her and I never communicate with her she has said this in the past plenty of times and I would say I will change and do for about a week then fall back into my old ways. This last fight really hit home and made me realize what I have been doing is wrong. I am willing to change and have started I need to learn to communicate with her. I am a good person just need to not let the stressful things get to me and just be happy and enjoy my family. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. She told me I need to fix myself first enforce we can fix being a husband and wife again.

Hi tunatales, welcome to Marriage Builders. It sounds like you need to learn to control your anger more than anything. Losing your temper is always a choice, regardless of what is happening in your life. And if you can learn to control your temper, you might be able to save your marriage. That is where I would focus FIRST. Look into getting anger management classes with Anger Busters and focus primarily on the first 5 chapters of Dr Harley's book, Lovebusters.

Did you live together before you were married?

Here is a thread with Dr Harley's suggestions about resolving anger problems: http://forum.marriagebuilders.com/ubbt/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2603602#Post2603602

Yes we lived together for 7 yrs. I am not abusive where I would ever hit
Or touch a woman especially my wife in any way but I do understand what you are saying. I was always a very happy easy going person. Once I started to lose jobs due to them closing down and now I moved my family from a house we were renting that was being sold to buying our own house In a very nice neighborhood with a great school system for the kids and been in my current job for the past 5 yrs which is a very good job. But over the last yr there has been so much stress at work here I let it get to me and carry it over into the house I guess. I realize it now and in the past week have relaxed and not let everything bother me and even started to communicate with my wife. Small steps I know it's going to take a long time for her to see that I truly changed but I know I can and will for my family's sake as well as my own.

TT, I would not take "baby steps," because your marriage probably won't last that long. It sounds like a very aggressive, serious approach is required if you are serious about turning this around.

If you signed up for anger busters and order the Lovebusters book as I suggested, she might see that you are really serious this time.

You would also feel better about the stress in your life if you learned to manage your anger.
