My dad left my mom at the altar, pregnant with me. I spoke with him for about an hour 9 years ago.
I reached out, nothing happened.
I just don't see this sort of thing happening to the majority of folks in the situation with an estranged family member or parent. All I suspect this movie will do is build up expectations in folks higher than can be fufilled and produce a bunch of folks who end up depressed and discouranged when they are unable to replicate the story they see on the screen.
