My husband of seven years recently fessed up about two affairs he had. The first was two weeks after we go married and it was a one night stand with his ex. The 2nd was just this year from december to may. In march I told him I was unhappy and he confessed (lied) about the affairs telling me the had three random one night stands and one that lasted two months but was over already. We went to marriage counseling and we improved 100%, in May I discovered not only was he still seeing the last girl but he started it in december and continued it after I forgave him for the "four" one night stands. Even during our marriage couseling he had the nerve to bring her to our home and sleep with her on our bed twice. He confessed he fell in love with her and didn't want to hurt her. He cared more about her feelings than mine at one point. He gave her expensive flowers for valentines while giving me cheap flowers. She even came up to us at a restraunt and had a brief conversation with us. I felt like a fool. In May when I discovered it was still going on I threw him out. That same day he dumped her and promised never to see her again. We have tried to reconcile and I cry every day and feel the hurt and pain contantly. He has left twice because he doesn't want me to hurt anymore and thinks by leaving I will get over him and move on. It lasts about a week then he comes back saying he cannot live with out me. How can I get over the resentment I feel? He has started therapy to get help with his lying and promises he will never cheat or lie to me again. I cannot handle all the stuff he did for her while leaving me out in the cold. I really do love him but am scared I will never get over the resentment I feel. We have two kids a five year old and a two year old. Is it possible to save my marriage?

Did you read the exposure thread?

Please listen to this radio clip of Dr. H telling the steps of fighting an affair and the first step is exposure.

Radio clip on Killing the affair with exposure and Dr. H's feelings on affairs.

Welcome to Marriage Builders, Panage.

I forgave him for the "four" one night stands.
Why did you forgive him? What did he do to earn your forgiveness? After FOUR one night stands?

he had the nerve to bring her to our home and sleep with her on our bed twice.
I certainly hope you dragged that bed out of the house and burned it in the back yard. Please tell me that you aren't sleeping on it. puke

He gave her expensive flowers for valentines while giving me cheap flowers.
Panage, when the Titanic is sinking you don't distract yourself with the color of the ladies' restroom walls. Why would you care about who got the better flowers??

He has started therapy to get help with his lying and promises he will never cheat or lie to me again.
Why does he need therapy to help him learn something his mother probably taught him as a three-year-old: DON'T TELL LIES. It's simple, really. Just DON'T LIE. His 'therapy' is an avoidance tactic: "Look, I'm in therapy! I'm 'doing something!'" cool

Who is the POS he's been laying with? Is she married? Do they work together?

If he is serious, he will alleviate your stress and concern by sitting for a polygraph. Have you told him that you require this in order to feel that he has told you the truth?

What requirements HAVE you given to him in order to be in your life and recover your marriage?

The leaving for weeks at a time and then coming back seems fishy to me. How can HW comfort you when he is not there? I do nor believe the A is over.

Where does WH go when he leaves a week at a time?

I suspect this makes it easier for him to hook up with OW. But she can't meet all of his needs, so he returns for you to pick up the rest.

Right now, WH has it made. Whilst you are on the receiving end of all of the hurt and pain.

Your WH is a serial cheater. Your only chance to save this marriage (and yourself) is to follow Dr Harley's advice to a tee.

Have you read the exposure thread BH linked? Actually, have you read all of BH's links?

Ask us questions so you can understand the plans, and then put these plans into action. It takes a while for us betrayed to get our heads around it, but you can do it.

Plan A and Exposure. And Plan B if WH's head stays up his butt.

And hugs meanwhile. Surviving an affair is no picnic.

Me (BW): 35
Married 1999 with no kids, DDay July 2011, OC born September 2012, Divorce final November 2012.

WXH (Gollum) is corrupted by his A, and now forever bound to it.

Plan B has set me free.

I just have to ask WHY you would want someone who is a serial cheater? Are you in a no fault state? Do you have an income of your own?
