My husband of 22 years said in sunday school last week that "I lust after women in my heart everyday." He said later that he was trying to make a point of sinning on a daily basis, but the way it came out was not quite right.
I was deeply hurt by the comment. He said i shouldn't be.
I was just wondering if anyone else would have been hurt by that comment from their loving husband??????

A man that is in love with his wife WOULD NOT say that. HOWEVER .. I have looked at beautiful women .. but only to admire that they are beautiful .. not to lust after them and wish i was in bed with them. I love my wife and shes the most amazing women ever and I would never say such things to hurt her as that would make massive love bank withdrawls if i did.
Your husband is on a slippery slope to an affair if he is not having one already. Es[ecially with a mind set of ALWAYS making a point to TRY and sin on a daily basis. I would put a keylogger on your home PC to see what he is up to.
You should read all you can here starting with the basics. DO a search and look for the article "what is an affair"
Do you guys spend enough time together? How long married? Kids? Get your hands on the book HIS NEEDS HER NEEDS.

I was just wondering if anyone else would have been hurt by that comment from their loving husband?????? Should this read "He was trying to make a point ABOUT sinning on a daily basis"? He doesn't try to sin on a daily basis. He is aware that every day that he lives he sins...and I take that to be a confession of something that he regrets. He said it in church. It was a confession of his weakness. You could look at that as honesty to be appreciated. He was communicating something about his feelings that he wants you to know, perhaps because he wants your help from within the marriage to deal with it.

injoy, you should click "notify" and ask for your thread to be moved to the forum MB 101. This is not the forum for discussing problems within a marriage.

I was just wondering if anyone else would have been hurt by that comment from their loving husband?????? Lifted from Jimmy Carter? Let's present an idea to you in two ways; A paraphrase of Dr. Harley: "We are all wired for affairs." Another one I think explains it rather well; "Just because you decide to become a vegetarian doesn't mean barbeque suddenly stops smelling good. To the point; recognizing a vulnerability and admitting a vulnerability is a strength which allows us to protect those vulnerabilities. The way to complete that statement; "... so I stay far, far away from other women."

Having lived through an unfaithful ex-wife who said nothing about her marital dissatisfaction, even when asked directly, I take the view that any honest insight into what is happening in the heart and mind of my spouse is a good thing. I'm not saying you shouldn't be hurt. However, I am suggesting that you have a choice. You can focus on how much this information hurts. Or you can say, ouch, now what can I do to help my husband who has the integrity to be honest about where he is? It's a tough situation. Because it is potentially hurtful information. It's also useful information. You might ask him to share such information with you in private, rather than in such a group. But other than that, I think it's ultimately a good thing. Personally, I see more good than bad in this. What you do with that is totally up to you. Might I encourage you to find the good in this and not get bogged down in what you perceive as bad. My husband of 22 years said in sunday school last week that "I lust after women in my heart everyday." He said later that he was trying to make a point of sinning on a daily basis, but the way it came out was not quite right.
