I don't believe I can build my marriage. Two weeks after the marriage my husband started to verbally abuse me . Four months later the physical abuse started that month alone I received four beatings. I tried to defend myself but decided if I valued my life I should not. This was reported to the police but he ran away returning days later when things had cooled down. The abuse physical verbal continued for over two and a half years. I reported it to the police several times. I was beaten with a hammer machete and his fist anything he can get his hands on.
Eventually I had him removed from the house in December but he would return when I am not home and remove food and other items. I had the locks changed and on mothers day while I was out he broke in. I texted him that I am aware of what he did he denied it saying its the marital home and I had no wright changing the locks.
I discovered he is living with a girl less than half his age and she is about to give birth. He has been married twice before but only disclosed one to me. The second marriage was Bigamy because the decree nisi was granted two years after he married the second wife and the absolute was signed this year therefore I do not believe we are legally married. The reason for the divorce on the absolute was cruelty I have since contacted both ex wives and they both told me I must be very careful and protect myself and ensure I am safe because he has an history of violence and whatever I am experiencing they have been there. I am afraid of my life because he has threatened to poison and kill me on several occasions. I am certain he has hurt the girl he is living with. He has boasted to me that she is paying the rent and taking care of him. He has no intention of getting a job.
I want to get him out of my life but the pain . Love is hard to kill. I am wondering if I can have the marriage annulled

iamjimi, I agree with you that you can't save this marriage. Some marriages should not be saved and this is one of them. My suggestion would be to contact an attorney and find out what you have to do to dissolve this marriage, if anything.

Good luck!

Welcome to MB, iam.

I don't think anyone here will advise you to rebuild a marriage with an abuser. Why are you thinking of this? He is out of your life and living with another woman who is having his baby. What makes you think he wants to come back?

You need to report any further threats or actual violence to the police as soon as they happen.

Whose name is on the rental document or deeds now? You need to get his name taken off, and you need to see a lawyer about the annulment issue.

Good Lord. This isn't a loving husband; it's a bully who could possibly kill you. Don't walk - RUN from this relationship.
