I have been reading the history of the catholic church and came across an interesting event that demonstrates exposing an affair:

Phillip Augustus of France (1180-1223) separated from his beautiful wife Ingeborg of Denmark on the very morrow of their wedding in 1193. In spite of failure to obtain an annulment, he began living openly with his mistress while making life as miserable as possible for Ingeborg (sounds familiar to a lot of threads in SAA).

She refused to accept her fate and importuned the Pope to grant her justice (exposure and holding the wayward accountable).

Pope Innocent resolved to show that kings too were subject to the moral law, and though he had important political reasons for desiring Phillips friendship, Innocent decided in view of the Kings stubbornness to lay an interdict on France.

(During an interdict the only Church services performed are baptism, wedding and funerals. The Church stops all other functions)

The interdict was only lifted when Phillip submitted and acknowledged Ingeborg as his queen.

However he continued the affair for another 20 years. At that time he reportedly permanently ended it.

Well, I guess even the Catholic Church has degraded in a mere 900 years!

SMM could not even get his parish priest to stop his WW from performing as a Eucharistic Minister while regularly getting boned by a man other than SMM! She's no frickin' Queen or anything, just a run-of-the-mill round-heeled trollop!

What say we organize a 21st Century Inquisition? You gather some sticks for the fire, and I'll build a decent rack!
