My appetite and my weight tend to go up when I'm around her a lot.
When I'm not around her, I seem to fall effortlessly into a healthy pattern of diet and exercise.
Obviously, the problem is not her but in my own attitude. I simply don't like myself as much when I'm around her and that's something I have to work on. It's called emotional fusion, for those of you who know what that means. It's an unhealthy emotional connection that has to be replaced by an ability to hold onto the best part of ourselves no matter who is around or who isn't around. I'm getting there....
Murray

Ah yes, the continuous, never ending struggle with weight.
I was doing pretty well consciously trying to lose weight. I was successful to a certain extent, I dropped about 15 pounds.
But then I got depressed, and then I discovered my H's affair, and I have an overwhelming chocolate tooth, and now here I am, back to the weight I started at. I'm so proud! (Sarcastic.) But... I'm dancing again, trying to watch what I eat but not "dieting" and I think I'm starting to see a difference.
It does NOT help that my H has the world's fastest metabolism, and he can live on Dorito's and french fries, and stay the same size he was in high school. So we always have lots of junk food in the house. It's much harder to avoid when it's right there in the cupboard!

I found another "healthy" weight management program on the net that I thought some of us might be interested in. It doesn't sound faddish or drastic either. I'm going to check it out. http://www.bodyforlife.com
