I was here back in 2006-2007 going through an ugly divorce where my ex left for another man.
During the D, I got custody of my children and we started out new lives. I dated a couple times early on but knew I wasn't ready so I took a couple years off. Long story short, I was introduced to a lovely woman in April of 2011 and she and I were married last October.
We've got three great kids between us, my soon-to-be 17yo daughter, her soon-to-be 13 year old daughter and my 11yo son. All three of whom are very well rounded after having come from broken homes.
Now, I have a buddy of mine going through something very similar so I wanted to point him to the site, but first I wanted to tell everyone that helped thank you very much, specifically Melody and her husband. Those two were a great inspiration and never let me be a whiny baby LOL!
I'll post more later but like I said, I wanted to say thanks and to let those who've closed their divorce, that life does get better!

Do you and your wife now follow the POJA? We do, though I had forgotten there was an acronym for it LOL! It was one thing we had agreed on early on when we were dating. She had been divorced for ten years and I for six and neither of us had dated in the past few years. A good friend of ours introduced us because we had a lot of common interests. I finally found someone more of a sci-fi geek and reader than I am. We actually look forward to coming home and watching a couple episodes of Walking Dead or Dr Who or whatever together. And our kids get along great... well, when they're not figting like brothers and sisters
