My husband has an android phone that has a passcode to get access to it. I read somewhere that someone was able to plug their phone in and install it that way, but I don't have access to the phone at all without that pin code so I don't know if that would work or be able to bypass it. I have no clue what the code could be and he keeps his phone near him at all times!

Most passcodes are pretty easy to guess as people usually use the same pin for all their apps. Does he have a debit card? Try that pin. Also try his date of birth (yyyy or dd/mm).
Also getting hold of a backup will work. Does he back it up to the home computer? Just restore the backup to another phone and you are in.
