Check out the local churches in your area for a Vacation Bible School (VBS). I have been looking around, and the ones in my area are in the evening for a couple hours or on a Saturday for 6-7 hours. FREE BABYSITTING!

Our summer may look like that; I think we just added several to our schedule. smile

Our children absolutely adore VBS. Our church seems to alternate between wanting us as volunteers one year and leaving us on our own the next (which means time for a date!) So it's either Family Commitment time, or time for the main four intimate emotional needs. smile [Last year was wonderful, although we had such a good time and stayed up so late afterward talking, I don't think I slept the whole week.]

There are a multitude of full VBS curriculums out there now. 4 years ago our church didn't even do a VBS, and hadn't in decades, but somebody discovered these all-in-one VBS kits and now it's the highlight of the church year.

Our kids are in VBS this week and so far it has been great. We drop them off at 6:30 PM and pick them up at 9:00 PM every night this week! And they are having a blast to boot so it is a win-win. The only downside is that they are really amped up when they get out so we have been staying up later than usual.
