I just joined MB forums recently. I am happily married to my husband since May 2013. This is my second marriage (first ended because I had to protect my kids) and his third (both prior marriages ended due to wife's repeated adultery with multiple OM's). We became friendly in 2010- four years after his divorce and mine were finalized. I would see him at the library or Dunkin and stop to chat with him. We did not begin a relationship until 2012.
We are determined that this marriage shall be until death separates us. I want to avoid the Love Busters and do everything humanly possible to meet his needs while helping him meet mine. We are both Christians.
His four kids are grown up: 26, 25, 24, and 22, two from each marriage. He had also raised ex-wife #2's son from a previous relationship. After his second divorce and a subsequent failed dating relationship, he took a time out from dating so he could avoid repeating past mistakes. I have two adult daughters and three teenagers (girl,17; boy, 14; and boy, 13).
What can we do to maintain a strong relationship and avoid pitfalls? My heart aches for my husband when I think of the infidelity (emotional abuse IMO) that he was subjected to. I have never cheated in any relationship and want to show him by my actions that he's in a safe place with me.

CelticMuse,

You will get more replies by re-posting your introduction post in the Marriage Builders 101 sub-forum.

That way, you can have your own individual thread related to your unique circumstances.

Additionally, your Husband may be convinced to join in and possibly you guys could partake in one of Dr. Harley's home study or online Marriage Building courses.

Best Wishes,

LTL

Hi, Celtic,

Have you discovered the Marriage Builders Radio show? If you can get your husband to listen to it with you daily, you will both get a lot of great information, advice, and encouragement.

Have you read about the policy of undivided attention, and are you following it?

If you are serious about saving your marriage, you can't get it all on this forum. You've got to listen to the Marriage Builders Radio show, every day. Install the app!

Married to my radiant trophy wife, Prisca, 19 years. Father of 8.
Attended Marriage Builders weekend in May 2010

If your wife is not on board with MB, some of my posts to other men might help you.

@Markos: I have downloaded the MB radio app to my Android. The broadcasts are insightful, and I learn much from them. I put the speaker volume up so my husband and I can both listen to it together. And I talk to him about what we listened to.

@Learned Too Late: Where can I find that subforum?
