I am trying to figure out whether Dr. Harley's advice that, at least until each spouse has the other as their favorite recreational partner, you only engage in activities that each spouse enjoys extends to solo exercise. I am particularly interested because I am trying to lose weight to work on my physical attractiveness for my wife. What I have in mind is solo walks as I cannot achieve the heart rate needed to make exercise effective while I walk with my wife. Thoughts? Thanks.

Also, I would ask the MODS to move this to MB101. You'll get a lot more help there.

If you want to pick up the pace of the walk, and your wife prefers a slower pace, perhaps she could ride a bike while you walk quickly. Or she could walk her normal pace while you jump rope or jog slowly. What about working out together in the gym? On the treadmills, you can each go at your own pace.
