I really wanted to do something like Life Sucks or My Life Sucks or better yet pitty me, but I am usually more positive so I just tried to be neutral. My name is an abreviation of my name, my wifes name, and our last name. I thought when she got her name she would do something like SEM's W but no, she had to be origonal...Keep Smiling [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

I got mine because I have a very "Stay Strong" personality. I have used those 2 words as advice for so many situations. The only way we can make it through anything is to ...StayStrong. Strong in the heart, mind and soul.

If I would have thought about it better, I might have picked Punky. Because my H and I have this thing where he will say "Punky?" and I will say back, "Brewster?".... It's a funny-stupid thing [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
~Heather

I started a similar thread on here not too long ago.. it's nice to see the reasons behind other aliases on here (grin).
Topaz is my birthstone. I used to always use it as my alias on local BBS's, and my online friends there would call me Topie. Once the internet 'came to be' (so to speak), I started using Topie. I was 25 at the time I started using it.
Karen

Oh, because I'm such a know it all! (not really)
I've broken all of the 10 commandments. Have put other gods before Almighty God, to me, food and tv sometimes comes first, just to give a practical example...
Have not always honored the sabbath to keep it holy. For example, like being so consumed with busyness that I did not take at least one day to rest.
Definitely have dishonored my parents. Hmmm, too many different ways to count! One thing I did in particular was to JUDGE my mom. She had several divorces and I vowed that I would never raise my kids with a stepdad... Well guess what? I did worse than that, I had a baby out of wedlock by a MM!!!! Boy, did I ever eat those words!
Murder--had an abortion before...
Adultery--like I said, I did it. But after I got married, I realized that there is more to adultery than the act itself. Jesus said that if we looked at a person with lust, that we had already committed adultery in our hearts, so I challenge myself to go deeper and endeavor to commit my inward thoughts to the Lord, for HIS scrutiny.
I have stolen, lied, and coveted before, also too many times to mention.
Sooo, by my own admission, I am a lying, stealing, coveting, rebellious, adultering, God and parent-dishonoring murderer! Do you think I need a Savior! YOU BET! Is he merciful to me, a sinner? YOU BET! Am I grateful? YOU BET!

This thread is a nice change of pace. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
When I first came here, my mind was so fried, I couldn't think of anything that did not come out brimming with pure negativity, so I just went with my initials, AFL. Not original, but, oh well. About 2 months ago, I changed it. One reason, I felt I needed one that made a statement. Secondly, (and more honestly) I wanted to make some posts that I did not want my H to read at the time. So, I became You Gotta Be, from the song by Des'ree. (You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold, you gotta be wiser, etc...)My new theme song!
HEY SLAPNUTS! Come on now. You can find the right words to explain yours! Inquiring people want to know!!! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

------------------
"They shall mount up with wings like eagles."
[This message has been edited by You Gotta Be (edited August 27, 2001).]

I love animals of all shapes and sizes. That's pretty much it.
Animals don't hurt each other out of spite or malice--they do what their instincts tell them to do in order to survive. I'm pretty sure internet affairs aren't a survival tactic (long story from another of my posts). So, I chose my user name as a tribute to their good souls [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

My H is from Minnesota, I am from California, He played football and I played softball for the University of Minnesota #67, #13, we miscarried a daughter named Julia and she would be 3 years old.
Husbands, Love your Wives; Wives, Love your Husbands: pray for them daily, no matter what the outcome. Thank God for their lives and for strengthening you with this trial. Ask Him to bring GOOD from it, He will.
God bless You all.

Ok, j is the initial of my first name, d middle initial, mac for my last name(just spelled a little differently), and 1 because when I picked the name there was already a jdmac out there in cyberspace. Now I wouldn't drop the 1 for anything. Why? Because I believe there is 1 way for everything in life, and everything else is a little off. 1 God. 1 Son of God. 1 Heaven. 1 Wife. 1 Love. 1 Chance at PURE happiness. etc.
jd

Remeber the scene in the movie "The Unbearable Lightness of Being"? Where the woman puts on the tophat and looks at herself in the mirror, becomes seductive and aluring. Some magic came out of that hat, and I loved that scene in the movie and in the book as well. Mirror + transformation + magic. All one could hope for, I guess.

Sad But True, my favorite group, bud! Aww some of their new stuff is good, lol and hey, they aren't 18 anymore - they've all been thru about as much as all of us have, so naturally their creative drive predictably changed, Oh well, I still have Kill Em, Lightning, Puppets, Justice, etc [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] Can u tell I'm a bit of a fan?
"Khyra" is a name I saw on a website called AlphabetZuppa (I think) and I liked it - decided to name our future daughter (if we get to have one) Khyra. I was GOING to be Trauma but SOMEONE already picked it darnit. (I used to work in the ER and loved working with the trauma team)
