I've been with my husband for 13 years, I have two children. Thru these years I know for a fact my husband was unfaithful atleast 3 times and suspect atleast 3 other times. Each time I stayed and each time the hurt was easier to let go. He also loves to drink (a big turn off for me), even so with all the wrongs with him he is a great provider and a great guy(especially to the people that don't live with him). About one year ago I met a guy who ended up being a great friend, we would talk(something that no one did with me at my own house) we would laugh, shop, or just hang out together every day. My husband knew I was with him every time until we both stepped over that line and admitted our true feelings, he's everything my husband is not. He does not drink, he cares about what I have to say and he really listens, he's a true gentleman. Every EN is met. I moved out of my house almost three months ago,(my husband thinks I am staying with a girlfriend, but really I am living at his house). I told my husband by November 1st I would have an answer for him on what I wanted to do(whether to move back in or not), my question is......Do I go back so that five years down the road I won't have any questions or regrets and loose the one man in my life that has given me everything I've ever wanted, does my happiness get pushed to the side to do the morally correct thing? (Already thinking about doing the morally right thing breaks my heart, I toss between the rights and wrongs everyday.)
Dear Scoobie:
I find that I am not the best person to give an answer to a situation like yours but there are others here who have answers for you....I'm afraid you probably won't like some of their answers...but please remember that this board is a marriagebuilder board...and the emphasis here is on trying to save the marriage, if possible.
One thing I think you will learn if you stay here long enough is that what you are feeling is a common experience here...and that commonality takes away some of the specialness of it because you see what is often the end result.
I will send you back up to the top...it's getting late but maybe others will respond in the morning. You sound like you really need the help. Sometimes it's hard to get a response here if you're new...but just keep posting and you'll begin to get the feel of the board and that will help.
Again, welcome and please stay awhile and learn.
Faye
