My H has stated over and over that he HAS NEVER been "in love" with me...he 'loves' me...'cares' for me...'respects' and 'admires' me...but does not feel passionate towards me...though he really had a hard time last night explaining that he 'desires' me...he couldn't say that...he tried, but couldn't and admitted such...
The bottom line is the only thing that is different in our relationship is that HE NO LONGER WANTS IT...he is no longer willing to be committed to the marriage...
he has recently taken his ring off...and won't put it back on...(this hurts more than anything...)
AND, I guess another difference would be that I know how he feels about me...and now I doubt myself...have I really confused sex and desire for love all these years?
So what did love have to do with it anyway? He wasn't "in-love" with me before...yet married me...(the first time he said this was five years ago).
Why does love have anything to do with why he wants to separate?

Cali

------------------
Live Impeccably In Your Word.
Don't Take Anything Personally.
Make No Assumptions.
Do Your Best Always.

I have always felt that love is what brings two people together in marriage but that love has little to do with two people staying together and making the marriage work. You can be in love with someone but completely miserable living with them and you can be compatible living with someone and not be in love wtih them.
I'm sure my opinion helped you none at all and didn't answer any question.

Hi Cali. You know this is fog-talk, right? You know it, deep down inside. Someday, somehow, your H will come out of the fog, maybe it will be in time, maybe not, but you know that someday he will realize the truth, right?
MY H, yes mine, has recently told me that he loved me the entire time he was trying to "run away" with OW and forget his problems. He said he tried not to have feelings for me, but it just didn't work, he knew it, but kept trying to convince himself...
Now, I knew this in my heart, but did I believe it? No, not always, half the time, I really thought the things he said were true. Then, out of the fog he comes, and just like most of the other WS's, realized what love really is.
Don't beat yourself up over this Cali, when my H took his ring off it tore me up inside. When I took mine off, it tore him up inside (after he told me it went PA and he was trying to get back with me). Neither of us wear our rings now, and even though it still feels awkward sometimes, I just deal, someday, we will wear them again, when the time is right (I hope)...
WS's in the fog seem to have their own version of love and in-love, doesn't seem like all WS's feel this way? It must be some secret cult way of trying to rationalize and justify things in their head. "Oh, I have these feelings for my S sometimes because I love them, but I have these other feelings because I am not IN LOVE with them."
Stay strong Cali, I am going to go and read your other long thread in a little bit, haven't quite had time yet...
HbH
