an update and if you have any suggestions or ideas....
My H has been avoiding his mom through all of this... just talking to her briefly every now and then. I call her about twice a week to keep her updated. She understands my Plan A efforts.
Remember our lunch talk last Sunday??? , where he still "loves me", but still thinks he wants a divorce....
He called her Saturday night and cried and cried. He is lost and is not sure what to do. He told her he "loves me". He was very upset that I had told him we couldn't be friends if we got divorced. (We don't have kids - He can't have part of me and I don't want part of him... all or nothin', ya know?) She let him cry and tried to ask him questions, and encouraged him to not rush into anything, and to talk to me. She told him I loved him and was there for him, and if he's ashamed of the A, then to apologize and come to me to work things out.
THey didn't resolve anything, but I'm taking this as a good sign. I know, I know [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] my hopes aren't too high... but to me this shows a little guilt, indecision, he doesn't want to lose me....
so more Plan A....
any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions welcome....
------------------
Faith1
"Then Jesus answered, 'Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.'"
Matt 15:28

I WOULD be encouraged!
I only wish my H's family would "talk" to him, but unfortunately for ME, they PUSHED him OUT of the M, certainly won't push him to come back!!! (Or maybe NOT talk to him at all?)
I think there's only positive things coming ahead for you....keep praying and be encouraged.....it all sounds like good news.
Your loving "big" sis,
Lupo
Faith,
Sounds like he may be inching to the right track. God I hope so dear. You hang in there.
Ask why he wants a divorce. Has he thought of trying C? tell him three session couldn't hurt to try. Tell him you want to give him support but he has to want to work this out.
I will keep praying for you both. Faith1,
Enjoy the small victories. He may not be able to forgive himself at this point, let alone think you or his mother can ever forgive him. Give him time and let him know he has a place to come home to. Also, let him know the A does not define who he is.
sad dad

Don't have much time right now, but wanted to wish you luck. Maybe your H is slowly coming out of his fog and is realizing what a lovely lady he is losing.
------------------
Dumplin
E-mail ajowens@dfa.state.ar.us

faith1, sounds like things are moving in a good direction, I have hope for you, just no expectations!!
MIL are wonderful, never thought that before about my MIL til last night and I had kids call for grandparents day and MIL shared with 16yo D to give mom a big hug and kiss for having to go through all of this, then when I talked to both of them (FIL does not know, MIL only knows because SIL told her, not WH) FIL kept asking when I was moving to UT and so on, MIL thanked me for not spilling and said she just didn't understand her son, he hasn't talked to his parents since he moved. So sad!
I am glad that you have had your MIL to share this with and that she didn't take sides per say, just sounds like she waants what is best for both of you.
God's blessings!! Dawn

Yes, I say thank God for a mother-in-law who is loving and understanding and willing to share valuable information. Faith1, I wish you all God's best no matter what. It sounds like you have her support regardless. It sounds like she loves you both and is being supportive. What a blessing.
