OK, update: I talked w/WH tonight.....

See, I needed to contact him to ask him if he got important papers, I forwarded to him in the mail last week-end (the mail's been slow, lately, dontcha know?). I called there about 8:30 - SHE answered, I sweetly asked for my H, SHE said he was at work, and would "be home" (I HATED that!) about 10....I said, "Could you please ask him to call me? Thank you." and hung up.

He did. Promptly at 10. I asked about the papers, yes, he got them, thanked me for sending them. I told him I got "OUR" tax rebate check, had deposited his half in the joint acct. he has access to -- he said, "Take it back out and YOU keep it, you can use it for mad money" (I said, "yeah, right, MAD money!") Or, he says, "use it to pay bills, I know you can use it." I tried to protest, said, "No, half is yours....." NO, he insisted......heck, if he wants to pay GUILT money, I guess I can let him!!!!!!!!!!!

He mentions that his car insurance is only good till Nov. and if I send him the bill when it comes, he'll probably change it over THERE (he lives in different city) when it's time to renew. I agreed, even tho I'm DYING INSIDE...............(I guess he hasn't realized yet HOW MUCH it's going to cost in BIG CITY he's living in!!)

Then he proceeds to give me his work schedule, AND HERS, tells me SHE LEAVES FOR WORK AT 10:15 AT NIGHT.....and then gives me his new cell phone #..........hmmmmmmm........

More small talk, he tells me about his new job.....what he likes, what he hates (I already knew these things would happen!)

We really only talked about 5 minutes (I cut it off this time, instead of waiting for him to).
I said, "I gotta go, I love you....."
HE SAYS, "Yeah, you too....." (Usually when I say that, he says, "OK" or "I know you do")

Is it just me, or does anyone else think this all sounds positive, and I'm seeing b-a-b-y s-t-e-p-s back toward home?
Thanks for your input.
Lupo

Lupo,
Hi. I don't think I've written to you before.
I have also started cutting my H off on the phone, being the first to go, and it does throw them for a loop. I have only done it twice, the last two times he called, but the first time I did it, he phoned back about two hours later to ask me something he could have easily sent me an email about. I live in a diferent country now from my H, so I felt that 2nd call was a good sign.
Yes it is a teeny weeny step, I really believe that, for you and me, but we should not hold any expectations to it. Just keep doing what we're doing, hey?
Love and light,
Jacky
