The answer is yes, any exchange of body fluid will do. Scary one is even w/ touch like herpes.

Our doctor said that while it is possible for saliva to carry STDs, it also has properties that kill STDs. I got the impression that it was most likely safe to kiss my H after his A. This was after we both had STD tests and the doctor went over the results with us, though.
Conqueror

Yep, it was embarrassing, but we both have the same doctor, so I figured why not--she is a doctor, after all, and has probably seen all kinds of stuff. H was way more reluctant and embarrassed than I was, but I pointed out that it was the least he could do for me under the circumstances, and sure enough, we both tested positive for Chlamydia and had to be treated.
Prior to this proof he claimed he had always used condoms with OW, so for all BSs, don't take WS's word for that and be sure to get tested. I think you can get tested for free or low cost at the health department, and you can get condoms there free, also.
Until I feel safe again, I will be getting tested every three months and using condoms just as anyone in a high-risk group should.
Conqueror

Yes, but it would take a whole quart of saliva to effectively transmit HIV.

Found this info on the web for you at:
http://www.unm.edu/~shc1/chlamydia.html

quote:

Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted infection that is causing a national epidemic. The incidence of chlamydial infections is three times more common than gonorrhea and thirty times more common than syphilis. Symptoms may appear within two weeks to one month after exposure to someone with the infection and are often similar to symptoms of gonorrhea. However, chlamydia frequently
causes no symptoms at all.
Symptoms in men may include discharge from the penis, burning when urinating and burning around the opening of the penis.
Symptoms may be present early in the day and go away, but they will come back. Many men will have no noticeable symptoms, or symptoms so mild they go unnoticed.
For women any vaginal discharge, chronic abdominal pain, bleeding between menstrual periods and low-grade fever may be later symptoms of infection. Because the infection is internal, 80% of women have no noticeable symptoms until complications set in.

[ October 19, 2001: Message edited by: BINthereDUNthat ]
