Moving Forward,
I called my friend today and he told me that he does a lot of aerobic exercises w/weight training and he will send me a scanned copy of the program ASAP.
He is in a good marriage and says that it was hard on him in the beginning to do the exercises because of him loosing so much weight so fast because of the drain on him.
I guess the word here in "WILL POWER" You are going to want to do it even if you don't feel like it......

Best wishes
RN
I will post the program as soon as I get it....

RN,
Thank you, I am looking forward to seeing it. I have been doing weight training 2 times a week and run/walking 3 times a week. I just haven't seen the results yet in skin tightening. I never have been a very patient person until now, so maybe I just need to sit back and wait! This whole affair thing has really shown me that I can be patient!
Thanks,
Le
[ October 16, 2001: Message edited by: Moving Forward ]

Yeppers!
Had started back to running about 3 weeks before d-day (July 16th) because WH had gone back to exercise (one of the things I finally saw as suspicious- what 31 yr old man poses in the mirror before work - gag!)
Anyways, after I found out I really hit the road - I'm doing 2-3 miles 5x a week and I'm also doing kickboxing and lifting weights now. I've lost 51 pounds - some of this is due to the "can't eat" and vomiting that was happening for the first month after D-day.
OP is shorter than me, and, at the time - thinner...but in a flabby, "I don't work out" kind of way. My WH told me that a co-worker of his saw me at the grocery store (we chatted a bit - she knows nothing) and announced at work - in front of OP - that I looked amazing!! (hehehe.... eat your heart out loser)
I actually could put a little of the weight back on...I haven't been this thin since 10th grade....but to be honest I look HOT right now...we went to see a rock concert(I bought an outfit in the junior's dept and let the teenage girls there pick it out)& I got A TON of ATTENTION....I have a keyboard stroke recorder (spyware) on the computer, and my WH emailed a friend and wrote how the experience 'scared the s**t out of him - "she wouldn't be alone for long" is a direct quote' - I LOVE IT!!!
It's kind of caused a "revolution" inside of me....I think the kickboxing has helped too....all of a sudden I want to BE MY BEST at whatever I do...
LLL
...my WH rated "attractive spouse as 6...pretty close to 'the top 5' so I think this shaping up may be an emotional need for him.

Moving Forward,
Here goes!
Perform 20-30 minutes of aerobic exercise 3 times a week on non resistance-training days, preferably first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.(walking, running, swimming, boxing, bicycling, etc.)
Perform a "high-intensity" resistance-training workout, utilizing core exercises such as the bench press, leg press, barbell curl, shoulder press, etc., for 50 minutes duration, 3-4 times a week. Resistance training means low weight, high reps.

I know that is not much to go on but he stressed the importance of sticking to this routine and making it "fun" instead of "work".
RN
[ October 16, 2001: Message edited by: Roughneck ]

Within 6 weeks of learning of wife's affair, I lost 30 lbs. The problem is, I was only 165 lbs to start with (5'-10"). I had a friend who would call me each day just to remind me to eat. But I had no interest in food at all. In fact trying to eat, and sometimes just the thought of food made me ill. I was finally able to get anti-depressant medication, and in time my appetite has slowly returned. I have gained back about 10 lbs. I am hoping to incorporate an exercize program into my daily routine. This is as much for my mental health as for my physical health. My doctor is now working with me to try to see that I do a good job of this. I have also been seeing a counselor who has been helping me work through the mental issues. As my health and outlook on life has been steadily improving, so has my appetite.

I've lost approx 15 lbs since d-day. I was down to 90 lbs several months after d-day. Although, I'm only 5'2", I was always fairly petite and never overweight. Howevever, I look drawn, older and VERY thin. Although I try to eat more, it doesn't stay on at all. I think I'm going to start working out again just so that I can improve my overall well being.

During the first 3 months I lost 70 pounds (20 of them were overweight) so I found myself in the hospital on infusions, the skin I had was at least for 3 sizes too large. Fortunately that was not the case with my face.
After 1.5 years I've got 30 pounds and look the best in the last 10 years.
I did and am still doing simple exercizes with a group of middle age women (no body building-just siple streching and some modified yoga exercises) twice a week 1.5 hours and my skin looks "like new".
That look is the only benefit from the whole mess.
BTW he also says I almost never looked THAT good (OW is not a beauty in ever sense).
D

Thanks RN,
I'm doing the running, but it looks like I need to increase my strength training and lower the amount of weight. I have been trying to lift as much as I can and doing 2 sets of 8 reps.
Other than that, it must just take time.
Thanks again,
Le
