Hi,
I am writing with a heavy heart. I am currently stationed overseas and am due to come home to my wife in two months. She has told me that I'm not taking care of her and her needs, and that she wants me to stay away another year. We've only been married one year and some months, and only really spent 6 months together. I love my wife very much, but she continually says that she's unhappy and that she doesn't know if she wants to work things out.
She has new friends now...don't get me wrong, I don't want her to be locked up at home or anything, but just wondering every day what these friends tell her. I've always managed to buckle down when she says something, maybe out of fear of losing her. I've received anonymous e-mails about her cheating on me...I didn't really believe them, but after telling me she wants me gone another year, I can't help but to keep that in my mind.
I don't know what I'll face when I return. I've repeatedly said I want to work things out, but she hasn't shown any interest in that. If you say you love someone, why do you hurt them?
-forevermore

grymm,
You seem to be new here. So, welcome to MarriageBuilders!
I hope you have already read the materials linked from the main page. If not, do it!
Ok, that's out of the way.
I'm sure that you are aware that being away from your wife for long periods of time is very very hard on a marriage. If there is any way to avoid it - or even to come back early, do it, if you value your marriage.
Oops, I just gave advice. See my disclaimer below.
Can you tell us more about your situation?
How did you and your wife meet?
Why are you stationed overseas and why couldn't she go with you?
Does your wife say WHY she is unhappy? It is very important to listen carefully.
Disclaimer : My marriage is messed up. I have no qualifications to give anybody advice.
-AD
