I have been near tears the last couple of days...every stupid commercial celebrating the holidays brings a rush of feelings...just six months ago I would not have expected to have my family intact...as fragile as the threads are...but we are still together and for that I give thanks!!
I give thanks for being employed and, for that matter, for the great kids that I teach. They are awesome! They make me smile when I think I can't.
I give thanks for my children...even when they are breaking something or are roughhousing, as three boys will do, I am so greatful for them!
I give thanks for my three prayer warriors at school. Three women who check up on me constantly and who pray for me, for my marriage and for my H.
I give thanks for my health (and for my HMO, that I have full coverage), that I have drs and care available to me to recover from illnesses.
...more to come....
Please add your thanks!

quote:

Com-on guys...must be something for which you are thankful???

I am thankful for my health as well. This allows me to get up and go to my classroom full of *wonderful* children, too. I am thankful for the BEST class of children anyone in our building has (not just MY assessment, everyone says I have a *dream class*). I am thankful that my God is faithful to me, even when I don't deserve it.
I am thankful for my family who loves me and stands by me through the toughest trial of my life.
I am thankful for the way God led us to get our new house. We have a big, beautiful house, nicer than anything we could have ever afforded before. Just 2 weeks after moving in, H moved OUT. He hasn't been back since, but I STILL love our house. I have faith that we will live in it into our old age and love every room (that WE re-built by our own hands!) for many years to come (just maybe not this year).

It's hard right now to "feel" thankful.
Lupo

As the Holidays approach I feel sh*tier and sh*tier ... sorry, but I do.
Altho, I am VERY thankful for things and know I'm blessed, and I realize there's a lot of people out there with it so much worse.
Seriously ... Thank you God for my job, my health, my friends here on MB, and mostly for getting me thru the last 1.5 years without completely chewing off every one of my fingernails down to bloody stumps.
Jo
[ November 19, 2001: Message edited by: Resilient ]

I am thankful for my sons, that they still love me through all my tears and stress, even when I have taken it out on them. I am thankful that they still give mommy hugs, even my 17 yr old, and that my YS still likes to cuddle and is mommy's boy.
I am thankful for my parents, who I most likely have neglected as I don't want them to know how unhappy I have been.
I am thankful for my in-laws, who let me know they will always love me, even my FIL, we haven't always enjoyed the most cordial relationship, but who on 9/11 when I called to tell that their son was not out of the country or flying like they most likely thought, (knew that STBX would never think to call), kept asking me how I was, are you alright,
I am thankful for my cat Hobbs, who follows me around the house, and for sharing my room, bed, bathroom and gives wonderful hugs.
I am thankful for my friend Janie, without her, I most likely would not be here, She has been there for me all the way, even when she her baby was diagnosed with CF
I am thankful for my God, who loves me even when I am questioning him and that I know is there for me. I am thankful even if I don't like how he has answered my prayers, at least he answered them.
I am thankful for MB, without this board well I don't know where I would have turned during the 1st part of this yr.
I am thankful for my STBX, that even though he has left our marriage and me; that he still looks out for the boys and me. I am thankful that he stills enough of whom he was that he cries about the holidays.
I am thankful that STBX is still there for our sons.
Wow when I started this I thought what do I have to be thankful besides my sons.
Thanks CALI for making me stop and think.

I am thankful to MB. Without which I know I would have had a much harder time.
I am thankful for a fellow by the name of DOUG WISER. Without him I most certianly would not be alive today. He was the first ANGEL God sent to save me from myself after d-day. DOUG, if you found this place, I hope you see this. Thanks for all you did. You really saved my life.
I am thankful for many of you great people here on MB. H2Y was one of the first to draw me out a little. I don't get to talk to him very much since his move to Dallas, but he handed me off to another real ANGEL. Thanks so very much Kev.
Faith1, has been my lifeline to remain sane. She kicks me when I need it and makes me laugh when nothing or nobody else can. Those of you that know her, you don't need me to tell you what a very special "LADY" she is. Bless you D. and thank you.
SEM(yo, Easy E) and Keep Smiling, you guys really can't understand how much you mean to me. I saw you guys, and the love you could not see yourselves at times, and I sort of became attached to you. Still am. I know the two of you will always be there when I need someone to talk with. Thanks for everything.
BinthereDunthat, another ANGEL out here doing her best to remind me to lean on God. You are great. What more can I say. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Roughneck,(where the heck are you man?)Another great person who took some interest in me, and who I have a lot in common with(we are both ole oilfield trash). And he offered to find me a job whenever I needed it. What a great person this is.
Thanks S.
MANY MANY more of you. WSes included. You guys are all terrific people to take the time to lift us up and keep us going.
I am thankful for my kids, the pride of my entire life. Thankful for my health, my job, that I have a home, so so much more.
God has truly blessed me. Even if I have trouble seeing it sometimes. SO, without a doubt, the most thanks I am capable of giving goes to HIM.
I want to thank you for starting this thread. I skipped over it numerous time because I thought I had NOTHING to be thankful for. After I thought about it I see how shortsighted I was. So thanks Trying
jd
[ November 20, 2001: Message edited by: jdmac1 ]
