Hi! I just wanted to applaude you for sticking up for your mom like that on that OW's thread.
It was very interesting to hear your side of things and if I was ever in your mom's shoes, I don't think I could ask for better support from my daughter.
I am very sorry for what your dad is doing to your family and your mom.
With that said, please promise all of us here that you will NOT read any of your mom's posts. Please? Your mom needs a place to go to vent her anger, display her innermost thoughts, and as her daughter, there are just some things that will haunt you for the rest of your life if you hear them. If she wants you to know, she will tell you, please don't snoop.
I say this for you and her. I want MnM to know she can come here to post whatever her heart needs at the time, without it affecting you or coming back to haunt her.
I think it is good that you can view your opinions on other people's threads, and possibly help them to understand what their own children may be going through.
But please don't bog yourself down with reading this stuff. (I know I sometimes spend 8-10 hours straight just reading and posting). Go enjoy your life while you can, you can deal with this stuff later.
God Bless.
HbH

Thanks HbH,
Did not realize that my daughter had written on this forum. She is great on the computer and can do practically everything on it.
She is not the daughter that read that one post with me. I didn't know that my 16 year old had even seen this.
I will be talking to her tho
She really doesn't need to be reading this stuff. How do I get her off of here? I don't think she will go back on...but is there a way to keep her off?

Now, I'm no computer genius or anything, but I know you can set up "profiles" on your PC (well, you can for Windows, anyway). Like when it gets turned on, whoever is using it has to log on using their specified name. For example, your D would have her own login name and password. For her account, you could install some sort of net-nanny type software where you could block certain sites that she could visit (like this one).
I'm sure someone else out there would be able to give you more info. I do know this is possible, but don't know the links/resources to give you.
hth!
venusenvy

OH! Well, I'm glad I wrote then!!! I thought it was the daughter that you had let read the other post. I did think she was a bit young, but, who am I to judge???
I understand much better now! Please show her my post when you get a chance, will you?
As for blocking her from this site. I don't have much experience, you'd need some sort of net nanny, or you could always put that detective software on, that wouldn't stop her, but you'd be able to know later on if she did break a promise not to come here...
Make sure you treat her as an adult on this one, k? It took balls to write that to the OW, and it was a very noble, honest, scary thing to do. She knew she may get caught (and that you wouldn't like her coming here), but it was more important to her to give someone else advice. I admired that in her.
Think she saw any of your old posts? You may want to talk to her. I know if I were 16, and I found this stuff... I'd snoop and read it all. Sorry.
HbH

Thanks,
I am so computer illiterate...I am surprised I figured out how to work this forum myself.
I talked to my daughter tonight. She said she just had to reply to her. She said she doesn't read this site...and won't do it again.
She does know computers tho...she does that ICQ and MSN stuff with her friends. She is the one who discovered one of my H earlier affairs (He had left something on the computer and she saw it). She is pretty disgusted with him. She is also the one who caught them on our boat this summer. I don't think my H realizes what kind of damage he has caused with the kids. These scars will last forever.
I am going to ask my friend who is a computer whiz to tell me how to block this site from her. She really doesn't need to be reading this...and I think I believe her when she says she hasn't...but who knows.
She already knows more than she should.
I have to get to bed. This cold is getting me down...and there is work tomorrow.
I am so glad you had brought this to my attention...I would never had known that she had done that. Thanks again.

Hi,
I believe your D also had her own user name???
You can write to the mediators and ask them to block her access and email addy, explain why. But you need to know that she knows your user name, and she needs to be blovcked from accesssing your pc....
Unfortunately, she can still get in with another user name, and read what you wrote, using another pc.....maybe also explain THAT to administrators...telling them you want a change of user name, and they may also be able to delete all your past posts.
This is probably an imperative point....you do not want your D to read this stuff, do it! It is too much for her. I guess you know that!!!!!
Love and light,
Jacky
