Good morning all,
My W has denied her EA (possible PA) to me and her family all along. She may be in denial about it to herself. Can anyone give me info or share their experiences with denial? I'm not sure I understand the psychology behind it. How does one act when they begin to come out of "denial"?
sad dad
[ December 24, 2001: Message edited by: sad dad ]

saddad- I am in the same position. My wife has also painted me as ..... to justify her position to friends, coworkers..
So, for me, I started w Harriet Lerner's " The Dance of Deception"..
Then I went to Lerner's " Dance of Connection".
I would also throw in Don Ruiz's "4 Agreements"
Both address the patterns of deception, when it's most likely to occur, and how the decievers view things.
The moral to the story? You can't change what they're doing..
Dan

Family Man,
Yeah, my W has painted me as the bad guy. She's said things about me to me, her family & friends that she never said prior to OM being in her life. She was so convincing that she had me believing it. I realize now that I bear some responsibility for the breakdown of our marriage,
but not to the degree that I believed and I am NOT responsible for the choices she made. I know there's nothing I can do about it.
Can you elaborate on some of what you've learned in these book about deception, denial?
sad dad
[ December 24, 2001: Message edited by: sad dad ]

Hi Saddad,
Well I have heard a bunch of denial stories and finally read the book of cliches about denial being a river in Egypt..... Kinda funny
WAT is going through that denial phase with his W, been there for over a year. That woman has stamina. To keep up denial for such a long time. Wat has tremendous patience.
He might be able to give you insight. I think Rick37's W did the same. Not sure, he doesn't post much anymore. Both guys have tried real hard and I have a lot of respect for both of them.
Here's a bump up so they can respond.
L.
