I have installed spyware. What is a "banned URL"?? For that matter, what is a URL. Has anyone done this before??

traceys- A URL is the address when surfing the internet, for instance http://www.msn.com that is the URL that will take you to MSN's website.

As for what does it stand for, I think it is Universal Routing Language but I might be wrong.

Anyone else?

Banned URL's, I don't know. I would have to say to check your spyware program and see what it means.

My H installed one called Spector on ours. It has been useful.... but I was mad at first. I now have the password and we can see what our kids are doing on here and that is good to know.

We respect their privacy...but we need to know if they are in danger!

I'm not sure about the URL's being banned, not sure what that means

Good luck......

help us out and tell us when and where you saw this "banned url".the url is basicallly the adress to a site and banned usaualy means forbiden or removed.just for the basics i would have to say that either your pc is banned from visiting that site or someone banned that site from contacting your pc.such as blocking it.but this is just a guess with out nowing more detials.you could also visit the web site for the software and ask them.

Spector pro is the spyware that allowed me to find out about my H EA. Not sure why your spyware would not pick up a banned site...or am I not understanding the question. Spector is awesome. It shows everything in a very nice and easy to use format. Kathy

is the Spector spyware easy to install? And easy to access? I was thinking of it, but afraid I might not install properly and then I'd be found out. LOL Does it come with easy to understand instructions so you know what is going on? How to use?
Hope someone can help you Traceys. I don't know except URL is web addresses. Thanks for answers. LouLou

ladylou!
I installed a $19.99 spyware from
www.keylogpro.com
It was fairly easy to put in. Once you install, save it, and mark it "hidden" and give it a password. It works. You don't see everything with this one, but you can see enough. If someone wanted to see the pictures their spouce or children were seeing then you would have to upgrade to a more expensive one.
Any keys that are punched ...i see. The sites that are brought up...i see the web address.
That is really all we need. My WH knows about it. It is for my piece of mind, and his protection from temporary temptations. Talk to your H. Maybe it would be ok with him????
Hope that helps!

Traceys, thank you. I think I'll think about it a while. Maybe not needed unless I feel he's using the internet for emails. Then i'd want something to give me every key stroke and be able to go into emails.
Right now we have an agreement, back on track for him to leave history for me to delete. But I can look at all sites visited and tell if there has been email logins.
If I do ever put one on, I'm sorry to say I will be sneaky about it and let no one here know. That would be a very serious breach of trust I know, but then i've dealt with one also and I would do it if necessary.
Thanks to all of you for info. God bless, LouLou
