Last night I went to a DIFFERENT church for their midweek service. The topic was "Cast or Carry -- The Choice is Ours".
Needless to say, that one was NEEDED!
At the end of the sermon, she put a box on the altar and said, "This is my God Box". She wadded up a piece of paper that she had written her worries and cares on and threw it into the God Box.
She invited us to do the same. Well you KNOW I did. I wrote what I'd been carrying around and fretting over ... I wadded up that piece of paper and threw it in the God Box. She said she'd have the Prayer Team pray over the box.
Now that piece of paper of mine is GONE. I physically cannot retrieve it. That feels good. Today is good.
One day at a time ....

Maya,
That's a good one... one of the tools we learn in Alanon too... alot of people keep a shoe box in the back of their closet as their own personal GOD Box... something you can use everyday if needed.
God sure brings us the messages we need at just the right time, doesn't he.
Take Care.

The profound thing about this WITH ME at least is that I cannot physically retrieve that piece of paper. Even if I wanted to, IT'S GONE.
That is speaking volumes to me right now. (I'm a very very visual person)
Another thing she said was "I can't do anything about this stuff anyway. It's too big for me .... but NOT too big for God."
Amen ... pass the plate.

I E-MAIL Jesus everyday with my problems (address to me subject line To: Jesus@Heaven.com.) Of course they come back to me but I hope he reads them first! Maya: I have avoided my church for a long time, first due to time constraints and church cliques. Now it's due to my lack of will. I have faith in God and always will, but I have not made the attempt to go back to church. Maybe I need a God box. Maybe it's time for me to go back. My love to you.

Maya,
I think it is great you found a different church to attend outside of the traditional family church.
I remember when I started visiting a new church, and it was so refreshing - and I hope you find this too.
One "exercise" or "walk of faith" that the new church did one Sunday, is we wrote names of people we wanted to see saved. And we went and pinned their names in a sealed envelope on a cross on the front of the church.
It was neat. I like the box idea.
Sometimes putting our faith into action, like putting the stuff in the God Box is good.
I remember one time, when someone told me to stand on God's promises... I got my Bible out and physically stood on it! It helped me to understand the "faith" in action.
God Bless You.
TNT
Maya,
God is always there. We just have to listen to Him. He is always on time. I am glad you were doing better. I had yesterday off and slept most of the day outside doing laundry. I'm glad you are feeling better.
He keeps me sane in the midst of the insanity that I am in.
------------------
God Bless,
Rob
