The mail arrived a short while ago. It's slower than usual today, as I'm sure is to be expected when another 5 or 6 cm of snow gets dumped on our city!

Anyways... one of the items I received today, is a copy of my marriage certificate. And it's made me sad.

This one silly piece of paper, at one time, represented some wonderful things. And now, I see a paper that is host to a 5 yr marriage full of lies and deceit.

I wasn't expecting to feel anything about this. And the only reason I requested it, is because I need to prove that H and I are married, in order to get a divorce.

At least its arrival is in good timing, as I have to go to my lawyer's office this week to sign an affadavit, and get the ball rolling with the sole custody, and everything else. Now I can bring the certificate along with me (I don't always trust the mail delivery).

Just a little vent. I'm not feeling much better, but at least I've let some of my angst out. Thanks for "listening".

Topie25,

So sorry to hear how you are hurting.

I can't imagine what you are going through in this stage of the painful journey.

My FWS is "sitting on the fence." Not w/ the ow but not wanting a loving relationship with me.

I will keep you in my prayers. God will give you wisdom and guidance as you go through this. You have done what you could to save your M.

Feeling your pain,
landslide

dear topie-sorry i didnt see this sooner. i got locked out of my car at my sons school. i hate this car-it is possesed!

we are getting dumped on too-i'm starting to hate snow.(not really)

i can imagine how you feel about the marriage certificate. it must be hard. i guess i get blue when i look at anything that has to do with our wedding. considering in my livingroom i have a whole display cabinet with wedding related things its hard. it hurts to just look at these things in passing, but i know if i remove them husband would be crushed. i wish he thought about that before he had his affair. so much has been lost.

i am sending you "happy thoughts"-can you tell i watched HOOK this weekend. i love that movie. all will be well, you are a strong woman!

landslide: Thank you for your thoughts. They are greatly appreciated.

nikko: a whole cabinet full of wedding memorabilia?? wow! I only had one shelf full... and it all fit well into a small box for the boys in the future. And as far as "Hook" goes... I love that movie too! My favourite line is said by Cptn. Hook himself, when he's giving the kids a test, and the little girl calls him a "LIAR!!". His response (is something like): "Why would I lie? It's far more fun to tell the truth!". Words to live by, IMO.

Hi Topie

I'm sorry to hear you are feeling down. I know what you mean about wedding items. I've used up lots of tears over them, but not so much anymore thankfully. Looking at them reminds me of all the hopes and dreams that we once so optimistically and naively shared for a lifetime of happiness together. I guess I have it a bit easier now though not living in the house full of those same dreams.

Now I am beginning to accept that that probably those dreams just aren't going to come true. I have to move on for my own sanity and happiness, just like you are doing. Take a small amount of joy in knowing that you've been wise enough to figure out what's best for you and your children, and that that is your priority now.

(((((Topie)))))
