I told my mother today that I was definitely going to try and work things out with my WW. She yelled at me for about five minutes and then hung up on me. She's always been very emotional but that was a first! She asked me what I was going to tell the kids the next time she ran off with some loser. She also told me that she thought my WW was actually verbally abusive to the kids and they would be better off without her. WOW! I've been thinking about them since and was wondering how long I let this go on and keep lying about it before it will look to them like I'm condoning what's going on when they look back on it. Also I've noticed that in the plan B letters that I've read there is never any mention of the children and the effect it's having on them in these things. Is there a reason for this? It seems like trying to work things out for the kids, when there is still love between the two parents is a very good reason to try and save the marriage. Am I missing something?

First things first....

Call your Mom, when you feel ready. Make a peace offering. Tell Mom you understand her yelling was venting, and she is angry and hurt. Also tell her you want to be able to come to your Mom and share your feelings, and even if you don't agree on the "right path" through this mess, you can agree to behave in a civil and loving manner to each other .... because you are both hurting. Tell her, "Mom, I can't hear what your heart is saying when you yell. Talk to me softly with your heart."

She will melt. Practice good MB communiction on your Mom! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Thanks Pepper. I'll definitely call her in a couple of days. I'll give her a little time to cool off. She will be very apologetic when I do call I'm sure. I actually laughed when I got off the phone with her. I don't know why but it is always a little amusing to me when she flies off the handle like that. I guess that's because I know her bark is worse than her bite.
