Not Going-
You didn't fail. I went thru those gamet of emotions too. But the more I think about it, I know it wasn't me. Wern't our WS in the same relationship we were?
Stop beating yourself up. I for one am and I am going to move on to better things. So should you. You better belive there is a person with a heart of gold out there that won't treat you like this.

I did my best and it wasn't enough.

I concur with rlyhurtin in that no you have NOT failed your kids, it is your WH that has failed them. It is easy to give up, but it takes real courage to try your best to save your M especially when you are bleeding from the betrayal.
When your kids become older, they will see the truth and thank you for doing your best to save the M, and keep their dad in their lives.

Hi,
I know all of that but my heart still breaks, My beautiful children. What will it do to them. You know i took the blame for everything for years. Now that i have accepted that he is at least as responsible for this as me. I realize that i really married a child. He isn't responsible for anything. How could i not see that before i married him. The thought of moving on is tainted with the fear of making another bad decision. Do you feel that way as well??

Our feelings can just as easily betray us as our WS's actions.
If you make mistakes, it is only because your human. But owning to those mistakes is what makes you an adult. If your WH does not own his, then you are absolutely correct in describing him as a child.
Fear can be a good thing to have when we try to avoid dangerous situations, but it can be bad when it holds us back from going to a better place in our lives and our children's.
