It's called Checkmate. I came across the website for this stuff last night. Basically you use it to test fabric (undergarments, sheets, etc.) for traces of semen--it contains a chemical that changes color if "evidence" is found. I don't know how accurate it is, I just found it interesting.
I personally don't think I would use it, but I don't know that for sure. I think there are too many possibilities for the test to be positive when there is really nothing going on. What do y'all think? If the test had a decent accuracy, do you think you'd use it to find out?

As far as accuate , well if you test it for awhile on times there with you all day and its negitive and then when there out and it comes up possitive then I would say HELL YES it would be accuate .
BY the way can you jump over to my post , PLEASE . need someone to talk to . Thanks .

The test is pretty much accurate for detection of semen, but, like you alluded to, the presence of semen doesn't neccesarily indicate PA.
The test should be a contributing factor (combined with other subjective and objective evidence) to the conclusion of A. To say that one wouldn't use it almost is like saying, "I would never check phone records because there are so many reasons for phone calls".
As long as one doesn't put inappropriate weight into the test (i.e. Oh no! one sample of underwear must equal PA) and the cost and potential cheesiness of the testing doesn't bother someone, I think it's a very worthwhile tool.
One important way to mitigate the false positive interpretation is to select really good samples. The multiple samples mentioned by 3isacrowd is pretty good. And non-H's underwear samples are good.
So, yes, I would use it and recommend it to folks as part of an affair-detection strategy.
by the way, look for the "Dead Friend's Wife" thread for someone's actual experience. [ March 27, 2003, 01:37 PM: Message edited by: est ]

Don't forget such a test to detect semen could also indicate only masturbation rather than PA.

Hey, I used wire taps myself with digital recorders...yeah, yeah, I know illegal..but not neccessarily, it depends on what state you live in. Easy to hook up and hide. It cost about $150, just sold my used one on Ebay for $28.
I also wanted to try the software that records all email...even will send you messages at your work computer..sounds real cool.

JohnnyB--I thought about that, and the website has info about it. IF one were to use it, one would have to pick the test "garment" and time carefully. Like, if you know your S put on clean draws that morning, you haven't had sex with S lately, and S comes home a couple hours late from work, and the test is positive, chances are, he didn't stay out to masturbate.
But then again, if a man masturbates in the shower in the morning, then puts on clean underwear, then comes home late from work, the test would be positive even if there really was nothing going on. Assuming my H isn't the only man that has done this--LOl.
Awhfy--Phonetaps may not always be admissible in court, but I think they're great for either reassurance or confirmation of suspicions. They can either put your mind at ease or make you see that you aren't going crazy, there really is something going on. Which, I think, can be even more important than their use in a court case.
I've heard the software is great. I don't know if they're all the same (I would assume not), but you can get one that records every keystroke. So even if history is cleared, you still know what was typed in email, IM, chatrooms, etc. Also would clue you in on passwords to secret email accounts or dating service accounts (which can be very useful).
