I have read so many posts but hardly ever see anything about those of us who may be empty nesters or childless.
I am handling the weekdays pretty doggone well because of my job, but the weekends are killing me. I find myself depressed and crying almost all weekend. Now I know that is not healthy, but I am without any real friends nearby. My lifelong "best" friend decided about 2 years ago she didn't want that role anymore. My current best friends is 3 hours away. Locally, we have only couple friends and acquaintances.
How do those of you who are truly along handle it? I get so tired of not having conversation, not hearing friendly voices.
Trying to take care of me, eating right, exercise, etc., but how to get past these weekends?

Hi, Post those thoughts in the thread title. There are several MBers who are the BS without children. Seahorse, JenBrown, Forgiver, are the ones that quickly come to mind but I know there are more.
Let's see if they can either post to you or we can find the links. I know that Seahorse posts a lot on JFO. She has had to deal with more than just the A. Yet through it all she has done quite well. I mean a BS that can go diving with sharks must have her act together (at least in front of the sharks.... u know how they can sense fear!!!). LOL!!!

Some of them spend many, many hours on the ladies board in ladies chat.

IS Girl: This weekend I made a big step and invited girlfriends over. I thought they were only acquaintances but it turns out that they loved me alot more than I thought. They all became teary as I told them my story and gave me lots of love and support. You might try out one of those acquaintances that you mention.
I also had a rough time on the weekends when my WS was home and was AWOL. It helped me to stay busy.
