Cake eating is over, let me assure you. In any case, I am done with that. My plan b -modified- has backslidden a bit this week with the onset of my 35th bday.
I made too many phone calls- I have a real weakness for needing communication..... I wanted him to tell me he would do something more to show commitment.
Well the you know what, oops- can you tell I am mad? Invited me out with the kids??? for my bday ... but we don't know when or where. Dinner he suggests, and he does want to take kids to buy a gift for me, and he thinks this should be a family deal.
Well no thanks. No more family get togethers until there are more one on one marriage get togethers and recovery and renewed commitment to go with that.
I hate it, b/c I had to turn him down on mother's day b/c he didn't want to drive out to see me , or take me out... wanted me to drive into houston to see him, and go somewhere he suggested- although one idea was something I would like, the other idea was to go crabbing...- something he likes and I have enjoyed with him..- but crabbing on mother's day?
No mother's day, now no bday it looks like unless he reforms and soon. He seemed to think he wanted to take us out as a family. - for the kids...??? What a sham. Why bother?
He still goes to counseling on mondays, but still will not face his drinking issues, and blames the problems on me! Yes, I did overreact to his drinking over and over, and oh yea, the irresponsible behavior.????
I did lose myself and go a bit insane from time to time... but gee, it is all me???? He claims it is 50/50 responsibility, but also claims he had to leave me b/c I might of harmed him???? ;( Whatever?
Well, sorry to vent. On my way to lunch with parents, and a bit bummed that all my holidays, celebrations, are with parents nowadays, and no happy times with my husband. I don't really think I have a husband, and I am right!
More later, late for lunch.
Hugs, Honey

I actually agree with your stance on this. He cannot expect to enjoy the gathering of the Family when there is no committment to the M. The family is just as broken as the marriage is at this point.
Fix the marriage first and then work on the family. Anything less would continue to enable him in his cake eating lifestyle.

Yes, *shaking finger* BAD HONEY!!! Bad Honey poured alcohol down her innocent H's throat against his will! BAD HONEY! Bad Honey put H's OW underneath him >>> all the while, H was kicking, and protesting 'no, don't make me screw her'<<< and BAD HONEY victimized her innocent husband by forcing him upon OW. BAD HONEY!!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

I so much appreciate the happy bday, as I have been doing some pity partying today! And of course the kind remarks from all of you.
Thanks Texmex, I know you know!
Thanks Pep, I appreciate you understanding, as I know you have been there... and are wise.
Thanks Melody, I know you too understand alcoholism.
Feeling much better now...! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />
I do belive what we can do is in the power of our minds.
Ok, we must accept that ws, are ws. Now that I am older and wiser today , I will.
Let go and let God.
Hugs and thanks <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />
