Happy Birthday Canada! Bonne fête Canada! Our nation's 136 years old today! How many other Canucks are lurking around here today? To all my American friends, here's a question for you, prompted by an article I read in the newspaper this morning. How do you view Canada and Canadians in general?(It would seem that there are a lot of strange and entertaining stereotypes out there still.) Hi Jen and happy Canada day to you and your paisanos. My personal view, as an American, is I don't judge people on their racial, ethnic, or national origin. If I judge anybody, it is by their individual actions. I've got to admit though that I've always been impressed on how such a small population like Canada's has achieved so much economic progress while dealing with a province like Quebec and its separatist tendencies (almost like dealing with a spouse that is undecided whether it wants to stay married or not). So celebrate but don't get drunk. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

Yes, Happy Canada day to all you Canucks out there! Though my experience with Canadiens is limited to traveling through parts of S Ontario camping, I've always been very impressed with the "can do" attitude and abundance of common sense. You guys are blessed too with a abundance of natural resources and national parks second to none!

I like Canadians, I have lived in both Edomoton, and Calgary. Sometimes I wish we were all one big country, but most Canadians I have said that to think I'm crazy.
Like, "Why would we want to be in the same country as YOU?"
Ha Ha, why would they? Makes sense to me.
What's even more funny, the "Canadian Railroad Trilogy" by Gordon Lightfoot just came on the radio - and I'm listening to it. How's that for timing.

I lived in Toronto for one year. Could not figure out what Canada Day was then, but I know now.Happy Canada day. I wish I had stayed in Canada, at least I would have had my family to help me with my kids, or maybe my WW and I would have still been together.
Spoke to her today, she did not sound to happy. Seems like La la land is turning into reality for her. I asked her what was wrong and she would not tell me, she just said that she will figure it out on her own. Oh well, I am feeling better everyday, and she seems to be going the other direction. Nothing good last forever.

TMCM, I love the comparison of Quebec to a confused WS! I guess we have been plan A-ing them for years!! Have fun at the fireworks Topie! We tend to be a little hypersensitive when people try to lump us into the same group as Americans. Spacecase, it's the cuddling during the long cold winters that lowers the divorce rate here! TMCM, if I had to recommend a place to visit, I'd say go visit Vancouver, maybe Whistler (just north of Vancouver) and also take the ferry over to see Victoria on Vancouver Island. Beautiful places! Lots to do. It's such a great place that Vancouver just won the 2010 Winter Olympics! Hey, if you do end up booking and are going for sure, let me know and I'll give you specific places to go and see and enjoy! All wives should have H's who take them away for romantic anniversaries. It sure helps to keep that love bank overflowing!

Well, I grew up in Victoria - and it is wonderful - lots to do in Victoria and great places to travel to all over the island. Wonderful little island getaways.
I'm also partial to the Rockies - as I live right beside them!!Wonderful chalets etc!
