You might talk to your doc. Some STDs, I'm told, can be latent for years before popping up. This might be one of them.

tnjpoe,

This is some bad news, and I'm sorry to impart it. Of course, confirm it with your doctor, but these are the facts: Unlike viral infections (HIV, herpes, venereal warts) which and incubate for weeks and years....Clamydia is a bacterial infection (like gonorhea) which has an incubation period of 21 days. There is a wealth of information about it on the net...read up about. Sometime, since the last testing for this STD.....this bacteria was introduced into your marriage.

I'm so sorry. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="images/icons/frown.gif" />

star*fish....Doeas that mean symtoms can show up from day 1 to day 21 about? After about 21 days does it mean if you have no symptoms yet, you probably won't get any symtoms, I know you can hve the problem and NOT have any symtoms too. OR does it mean it takes 21 days for chlymidia or gonorrhea before you show symtoms? Thanks Maxlo

maxlo,

Symptoms in women can be so slight that they are not noticeable for a long time (but they would still test positive after 21 days). Mens usually show discomfort within that period of time.

So....If tnjpoe has had no sex with anyone else since her last testing for STDs....the liklihood that she got it from her husband is almost certain. If she had a viral infection like herpes on or aids which can lay dormant for years and years.....she could have gotten it from someone else. The short incubation period makes recent infection (by that I mean the time period between the last test and present, since symptoms in women are nearly absent) a certainty. If she hadn't been tested before....she could carry around this bacterial infection without knowing for a long time...but the testing....narrows the time frame.
