Hi All:

I was reading this book by Anita Shreve, 'Fortune's Rock'. It is about a young girl(Olympia) having an affair with one of her father's married collegues. In the beginning of the affair Anita writes, "And in years to come, Olympia will ask herself if she did not, in fact, enter into a kind of love affair with Catherine Haskell(BS), if her curiosity about the woman and about the years she had with with John Haskell(WS) that Olympia did not, years in which marriage vows were made and celebrated, children were born and treasured, a marriage bed was entered and left a thousand times, did not constitute a twisted form of love itself, a love that could never, by its very nature, be returned or sated."

I felt this way and confronted the OW about it. I felt after a while she was more interested in me than my FWS. Almost as if she was in love with me and hated me at the same time. Weird huh? Take care. wu <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

It is my neighbor. She and her XH had a good marriage. They had 2 normal kids. They didn't want anymore, she went on BC pills, but got pregnant anyway. She gave birth to a son with a birth defect that caused him a great many probs including retardation. The H couldn't cope, started an affair with OW leaving for days at a time. BS eventually divorced WH.

He still cared for BS and the boy and keeps in very close contact with her, giving her money, cars, whatever she needs. The OW who XH had an affair with was betrayed for another OW. The first OW became close to the XW. XW doesn't really care for her but doesn't stop her from visiting. The OW can't do enough for XW and considers her a friend. I thought this was really weird but after reading your story...... maybe not.
