I just received this notice this afternoon. What an incredible loss to those of us who battle the epidemic of infidelity. She was truly a pioneer and a great leader. ~~~~~~~~
subject: Shirley Glass - 10/09/03
from: Smart Marriages®
It is with terrible sadness that I inform you that Shirley Glass, author of "Not Just Friends: Protect Your Relationship from Infidelity and Heal the Trauma of Betrayal" (2002) and a dear friend to so many of us, died at home yesterday surrounded by her husband, Barry, and her children, Randi, Karen and Ira. I know it's hard to believe that someone who appeared so vivacious and full of life as she presented keynote sessions and workshops as recently as June at the Smart Marriages conference in Reno could have been battling cancer, but she cared passionately about helping couples understand, prevent and heal the trauma of infidelity - and she worked right up until the end. Just last week she was doing media interviews - three in one morning. It was her hope that her work can go on. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that you make a contribution to the Marriage Education fund established in her name. It will be administered by her family and will fund scholarships and resources - books, tapes, materials. Mail contributions to the address below. - diane

This is truly tragic... Shirley helped me a great deal this summer and answered all my emails even though she was sick. I had no idea she was sick. She will be truly missed for her compassion.... I am saddened by this news...
Thank you for letting us know... <img border="0" alt="[Teary]" title="" src="graemlins/teary.gif" />

Wow how sad her book summed up her impact on so many of us dealing with infidelity.
For those of us in need of help Shirley was truly:

I had the chance to read an article by Shirley Glass when I first came to MB. It was truly enlightening. May have even been instrumental in keeping the WS alive. I certainly did not think I had the patience to endure all this stuff.
My deepest condolences to Shirley's family.
