"Elderly" ??? Oh! 2L you are buying the brew for that one.
Soft and Cuddly like Captain Kangaroo?? Orchid, that is hard to accept. Professorial? Now I could do that. Ok! I am getting a little soft, but I am going back to the gym NEXT WEEK, right??
mthrrhbard: I could handle the Sean Connery image. Need to work on my accent, the hair line is receeding at a good rate, I am taller, but I could do: "Bond...James Bond"
Suebee: Alas it is true. That NOSEY lady Susan just loves to bring back those old posts.
Susan: What am I going to do with you? You just love to embarress me don't you?
MM: I tend to go through your neck of the woods from time to time. Actually, used to live there, so who knows someday we will have to meet.
Sing, Auto, SS: Thank you very much for your comments. You all don't know it but I learn a lot from you all.
AND MS. T: I played a course this weekend that you would like. The LPGA has played their end of the year championship on it the past few years. I played it from beyond the Championship tees (they have another set of tee boxes that adds 500 yards to the course) and just about killed myself. 17th hole was 227 over water into a head wind, par 3. My "belly" putter did NOT save me. It was a fun course real long, no roll, and lightening fast greens.
Folks, you all have been far too kind. I have learned so much more from you all than I could ever hope to give you. This place really is special and so are the people that post on it. I felt incredibly lucky ot have stumbled onto this site. I did not know what I needed to know and learn until I got here, but it is a daily learning experince for me.
The most remarkable thing is that I have had the opportunity to meet a few members here as I have traveled around the US and they have all been very impressive people. It is truely remarkable.
You folks are really the best.
God Bless,
JL

H and I want to meet you. Two more months and you can see a marriage in real recovery. H. will retire at the end of the year (yikes...my h. is getting old too) and we will both be at home all the time. That should be interesting.
Also, time for my nosey question of the year Does your wife know about the MB forum and this side of you? Has she read any of your posts?

I'm trying to figure out where you played, as I thought the last one was Pumpkin Ridge, but I could be wrong.
Getting ready for a great golf weekend on Kauai. Leilana's Lug has become one of our favorite golf rats, and has engineered a game every day, at a different course of our 4 day stay. We got room for one more!!! T

Twyla,
I believe you are thinking of the US Open. This is the tour championship that the LPGA has for the top 30 money winners or something like that. The men have it as well.
Nah! no wedge for me. Three wood, took it down the right side and tried to draw it into the green. Unfortunately, it didn't draw enough and it was lost in the trees, just as it crossed the water. Lost three skins on that hole.
You never know I might make it out your way. I may have to go to Kauai for some work in a month or two.
What really hurts is that Tiger would have used a 3 iron or perhaps a 4 iron into the wind. Ah! in my youth I could do that, but alas, those days are gone.
So you guys are going to do some playing huh? Sounds like a lot of fun to me. I am envious. I am playing tomorrow, and that should probably be it until March or so. This time of year gets too busy with work, holidays and kids sports. But, the reality is that I play about 12 rounds a year sometimes less.
I would still like to see some of the clubs those pros use though. I don't think they are the standard brands we use.
Must go.
JL
PS: Actually, I guess I could of laid up on to another tee box. The Championship tees were 50 yards in front of the ones we used, and then there was another 50 yards to the ladies tees. Trouble was the tee boxes were very small, and anything off of them was in deep serious. Just one nasty hole is really the only explanation. Fun course to play but one really needed to see it a few times to figure out where to place shots. Because if you got on the wrong side of a green or a hole, you could not even putt it and keep it on the green.
Fun stuff for the mind.
