Dear MB Team and All who help on this forum,
I hope this is the right place to post this message. As we start the new year, I felt compelled to write and say thank you.
Last year, my spouse and I were on the brink of divorce after being married for over a decade. We were very lucky in that we hadn't had any outside affairs to overcome, but we had drifted dangerously apart due to years of unspoken resentments that had built up and damaged the way we saw each other. In desperation to avoid splitting up our family that includes two young children, we agreed to try Marriage Builders for one year. As we were both pretty far into the withdrawal stage, it was not always easy, and we had our share of bumps in the road. However, we remained united in one area- that we truly wanted to save our marriage and that Marriage Builders was our best hope at getting back what we’d lost.
We followed two main credos at all times: 1) No Lovebusters and 2) The Policy of Joint Agreement. For some reason, just following those two principles made the other parts of the program (Emotional Needs and Uninterrupted Alone Time) fall into place almost effortlessly. Once we got used to treating each other with care and respect once again, trust began to rebuild, and soon we were able to enjoy each other’s company just as we had in the early days of our marriage. After about ten months of working hard at Marriage Builders, we both realized that we not only loved each other, but the feelings of being ‘in love’ were definitely back. I came to this board often during the last year, because the wisdom on here definitely helped to keep me following the program and remind me of why I was fighting for my marriage. So, to all of you who give up your valuable time to help posters, I want you to know that it’s more than just the posters themselves who benefit from your advice and experience. Marriage Builders, and all of you, helped save our marriage, and kept a family not only intact, but happy and thriving for the first time in a long time. I can truly say that I am so looking forward to the new year, because I am so happy with my spouse, and can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with the person I love even more than I did on our wedding day. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart, and may you all have a happy and blessed new year!
In eternal gratitude,
Emeral D’Arc

Bravo to you for following the program and congratulations on your success!

It is great to hear that you have saved your marriage by applying the principles. And a good reminder for the posters, that your questions and answers not only serve the immediate topic, but can also help people who read this forum for inspiration!
