I have a silly (maybe stupid) question.... Has anyone felt jealous of there spouse? Maybe because they had more friends, or a better job, a better upbring?
Lately I have felt a little jealous of my H. He seems to have more friends than I do. We really don't have any friends that we have met while we have been married. He has a best friend that lives in CA. Two good friends that practically raised him also live in CA. One of the guys he used to work with lives in NV. He doesn't talk to him much but he did stand up with us when we got married. I don't have a best friend per se. My H is my best friend yes, but I don't have a best friend other than my H, someone I grew up with or met through work. He gets along great with people he works with, for the most part anyway. When I was working at the hospital, my co-workers thought I was bossy and not very easy to talk to. I never really felt like I fit in.
I don't know if its just me or what. My H is great at his job and I guess I am a little jealous of that as well. The only job I seemed to be any good at was working at the local fast food joint.
I was just wondering if anyone else has ever felt like this or if its just me???????

hopeful,
You are not crazy! I know exactly what you are feeling. I am a stay-home mom, and I am very jealous of my H. He gets to go out and interact with people (ADULTS!) daily. I find myself talking to my mother and friends in baby talk. I am a people person..I love people..all people. I love crowds. H hates crowds. I wish that he would allow me to go back to work, even part time, just to get me out of the house for awhile. I mean, I get out of the house, school activities with the kids and such, but there again, it's for the kids. I need some adult time!
Hope this helps. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif) Take care!
Gabbie

hopeful,
I can't say that I am jealous of my H in the ways you described. But, I do think I am jealous in this way - he has his affair and OW and appears to be having all this fun and happiness with his new relationship while I am suffering like hell. That makes me VERY jealous of him. And, of course, I am jealous of the OW for winning my H's love. So, I have my own jealousy battles although they they are different from yours.
Roll Me Away

Yes!!!
I am so jealous of my husband at times. He has soooo many talents that he is truely gifted in like; playing the guitar, painting, cooking, writing music, being super dad and he is funny as all hell. He has this real high IQ and reads Shakespear and Latin for fun. I think that my family likes him better than they like me.
When I first discovered his affair my family said, "Oh, a good person can make a mistake" I wonder if they would have let me off so easy!!!

Hopeful:
Uhh . . . ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif) . It's taken me four and a half years to find a job that I really like and that's in the field that I want to be in. It took my wife all of four and a half days to find her job here in Austin. Can you say jealous?
Also, people seem to REALLY like her. She's so genuine and outgoing when she wants to be. Me? I feel like a wallflower most of the time. TERRIBLE at small talk unless somebody else starts it! VERY jealous of her social skills!
Don't sweat it. Use it to your advantage! Learn how your spouse does those things you admire and try to emulate it. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Right? ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/grin.gif)
------------------
/// Lone Star * ///

Yes yes yes! For the longest time I was jealous that my husband fit into any social situation, and it didn't help when he'd tell me I needed more friends, needed to be more outgoing, etc. And he's got a great career ahead of him after graduation this Dec while I hate my job!
But then I stepped back and realized, there's nothing wrong with being quiet, having a few close friends rather than a bunch of aquantences. As for the job, my time will come. I have in the past year really started to like who I am. I'm quiet, but people like me because I am warm and genuine when you get to know me. I don't need to be the life of the party. As for the job, even though I hate it, I am still able to maintain my work ethic and do the best I can until I find something else. So sit back and take a good look at yourself, you're okay! And nothing wrong with being a little jealous I guess as long as you don't let it effect how you feel about yourself.

Hopeful,
I have nver felt that way about her but I think she has felt that way about me. When I asked her to marry me, I was an officer in the Air Force, she was enlisted. I went to the Air Force Academy and got my MBA from the University of Montana. She is now working on her undergraduate degree. My parents are still married. Hers divorced when she was a baby because her mother wanted to force her father to take care of a baby that wasn't his.
I know she has put me on a pedestal that I didn't ask to be put on. I have always wanted her to see me as her equal because in God's eyes we are all equal with different responsibilities because of the roles we must fill. I am still working on getting down from the pedestal because I get the big I little you speech more than I care to hear it.
------------------
God Bless,
Rob

I think I'm jealous of H's ability to make acquaintances easily. I say acquaintances instead of friends because he's rather standoffish despite his ability to attract people. And yet I'm the people person!
His group of "friends" are so different from people I can relate to easily...he's a bartender, and I'm a legal assistant. It's like clanging a gong of dischord!
We're going to NY for Thanksgiving to spend time w/his family and friends. I will be a duck out of water in SO many ways, and I'm not confident H will assist in making it any easier.
Oh well...."never let 'em see you sweat."
