Okay...Me and my fiancee have been going out for about 5 years now. We first got engaged after dating for about a year. (We were 23) After awhile, she became too insecure and tried to control everything. This in turn made my feelings for her slowly fade. I broke up with her as a result. We got back together after about 5 or 6 months after we broke up. I felt like I missed her and realized I still had feelings for her. Since we got back together, she has made huge efforts to not be controlling and she really doesn't act like that anymore. We weren't engaged again until this past Christmas, and I just moved in with her. Our wedding date is next April. Lately, I have felt somewhat confused. It's not her this time, it's me. I do care for her and feel like I love her, but I get feelings sometimes like I am numb to her, like I don't have that passionate feeling towards her anymore. Am I just getting used to her now or is it more serious? This is making me frightened of getting married sometimes. Other times, it doesn't bother me as much. I don't know what to do.

JMan, when I read your post I wondered if the numbness you're feeling is protective - are you afraid her old behavior will return? Perhaps during the time you were apart you built up a wall to block your feelings for her - if it's still there it could be what's getting in the way.<P>It's great that you found this site - have you done any of the questionnaires with her? Identified each other's needs? Made a plan to meet them? As cheesy as it sounds, it works - my fiance and I are finally happy and getting married next June despite a very rocky year or two a while back.
