I am getting married in 11 months and my future husband and I are reading the "His Needs, Her Needs" book. It's great! We both love it and we are looking at things that we never even considered a problem. He is 19 and I'm 22 and we are in college together. I was just wondering if anyone else was doing the workbook "Five Steps to Romantic Love" with the book. Any suggestions for talks to get into or counseling choices in the San Antonio, Texas area?? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

Hi!
What a wise decision to read HNHN BEFORE you get married. My husband and I have said it should be "required reading" with a marriage license! I gave one to my friend for her bridal shower gift. It is excellent! We have not done the workbook but it's got to be good if it goes with HNHN.

I agree with you that it should be a required reading!! I am a little disapointed about this discussion forum...I thought that it would be more of a help and new marriage people. There are mostly problems in here though. It makes me sad to read these!!! I hope that I can get some almost or newly married gals to talk to me!!!!!!!

Don't stop at HNHN - read the book "Love Busters" too. The ENs (Emotional Needs) are only 1/2 the picture. They make "deposits". The LBs (Love Busters) are the other half of the picture. They make "withdrawals". No matter how good you are doing at meeting ENs, if you are LBing, you are not protecting your marriage and partner like you should. "Love Busters" is a must read.

Fielder.. unfortunately there are a lot of problems here...but some great success stories too! Many came here because we learned too late about HNHN. I am new here also so don't know if there are any soon-to-be-marrieds like yourself?? It's refreshing to see someone here that hasn't been through what most of us have <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" /> . You have a much better chance than I did because you found this before you get married, not after something goes wrong.
