I'm new to marriage builders...I joined because of course, my husband and I are having problems and I need men's perspectives on this one. We've been married 2years and unfortunately we've moved into a "fixer-upper" home. Since living there my husband hasn't helped fix up much of anything unless I am relentless with asking. Even doing regular house maintenance type things such as helping clean out the gutters, taking out the garbage, picking up his stuff once in a while. He says he'll do them on his time frame, well his things lay around for weeks at a time, the gutters never got cleaned out before winter came (and I'm only naming a miniscule list in comparison). I'm now 4months pregnant, we need to move from our house because it has been a money pit. We talked in mid January about putting the house up beginning in March. My family all came and helped tremendously but he still has his piles all over. I worked for 5 solid days on the house and am completely emotionally and physically drained. I am numb and just don't know what else to do. Now he decided he's going on a fishing trip with the guys for 4 days when he admittedly states he doesn't like fishing. There's still an enormous amount that needs to get completed and he is just up and leaving. We never see each other as it is because we have opposite schedules, he's actually taking vacation days when we haven't taken any type of vacation in I don't know how long. I've tried to ask nicely, I've tried to make lists because that's how he said he likes to work, I've tried to anger part but nothing works. I feel abondoned by him most of the time because he puts his life first. He's a hard worker with things he wants to do but our relationship and our home aren't at the top of his list.
If anyone has some suggestions I'm all ears.
