Compromising Self.
What caused you to lose yourself?
To place your dreams upon a shelf?
Only responding to what I do.
I see what you were missing, it was you.
You stayed and watched all I did.
But inside your mind, your own self you hid.
But nothing was strong enough to break the seams
Nothing we did could release your dreams
I wanted to bring down this wall
That closed your heart to my call.
But you had to do that on your own
Fighting the battle all alone.
Then one day you found a spot
Somewhere that I could not
A place where you could take a peek
But no longer my love did you seek.
With sadness I watch you walk away,
Never knowing what to say.
You open up your mind to him
Never looking back to where you’d been.
You take responsibility for your life.
But in your making I lose my wife.
Now you dream of things to do
See what I am missing? it is you.
ragston,
Another great one! Wow!
May I ask - Do you share these poems with your wife? Let me tell you, there is not a women on this planet who does not LLLove having poems written about her. If you do share with her, and you really want to depoist mega love units, send it to her work in an envelope marked "For W's eyes only" with a drop of perfume on the envelope. Put this envelope in a vase from your home, or any container that she has fond memories of. Have her favorite flowers put into the vase and have it delivered to her work. She will be deeply touched. I don't mean to give advice without your asking, and I do not know your story, I just know how most women would have their breath taken away with such a lovely gift. Take care. All your poems are excellent. Your gift is to be admired.
Victoira

Unfortunately no. I do not share these with my wife. I did send her a couple, but her response was one of disbelief. I am very torn about sending anymore. She doesn't contact me unless its about money, or the kids. We share custody but the kids stay with me most of the time. Its been very tough on them.
My wife has alot of personal issues she has to resolve, I am unable to communicate with her. I am just a bystander now. =(
I will be posting another poem soon, inspired by my son's pain. Might post tonight.
Thanks for your support.
Rags
